Should Smoking Be Banned in Public Areas Such as Restaurants and Airport Terminals?
Should Smoking be banned in public areas such as restaurants and airport terminals?
Should smoking be banned in public areas? Well in my point of view, smoking should be banned in public areas. Why should smoking be banned? We are not limiting the freedom of the person who smokes. However, this is because smoking in public areas will be a disturbance to the people around the smoker and it will shorten the lives of the smoker. By restricting some of the public areas not to smoke, lots of people will benefit from that.
Why should smoking be banned in public areas? There are two reasons for that. Firstly, it damages the health of the smoker and the passive smoker. The second reason is smoking may be a disturbance to the people around it.
I believe that smoking should be banned in public areas such as restaurants and airport terminals. It damages the health of the smokers and people around them. How does it damage the health? Cigarette contains 4000 dangerous chemical which may cause lung cancer, bronchitis, pneumonia and other diseases. This cigarette is destruction both to you smokers and to innocent people. So at least try to smoke in your room with your doors shut.
The second reason why I believe that smoking should be banned in public areas is because the smoke may be a disturbance to the people around the smoker. If a person smokes, he is not the only one to suffer but also the passive smokers. When a pregnant mother walk passes through a smoker, the women will breathe in the cigarette smoke. If she stands around the smoker for a long time, her baby will be given birth prematurely or the baby will die before they can even be given birth. There are some cases in which the infant dies. I feel really sorry for them.
Many people are going in and out of these restaurants and airport terminals and these places are air-conditioned. This means the smoke inside is not getting out easily. So if 10 person smokes at the same time, the whole place will be overwhelmed by the smoke. People inside this place will be affected and will get some diseases like pneumonia and others. Many people’s health will be affected negatively. So smoking be banned the public areas!
In conclusion, I feel that smoking should be banned in public areas not just in airport terminals. This is a good way to stop innocent people suffering the disease. Public areas are for people to relax, for example, restaurants and parks. Different types of people are always at these places. There are absolutely no advantages in smoking whether alone or in public areas. Why shorten your life? Live while you can live and contribute positively to the environment. Think smokers. You are not only destroying your own life but also many thousands of life. This is just an advice. Smoking is bad for you and the people around you.

There are many reasons why smoking in public should be banned. The three main reasons to ban smoking in public are because of the health risks, offensive smell, and environmental risks that are the cause of cigarette smoke. Secondhand smoke is smoke from a cigarette, cigar, or pipe that is involuntarily inhaled, especially by non-smokers (The American Heritage Stedman’s Medical Dictionary, n.d.). In many public places smoking is allowed and is not fair because non-smokers are exposed to chemicals that can harm them internally and externally. Children for example, are chronic victims of secondhand smoke. The inhalation of cigarette smoke that can harm people nearby is called passive smoking (Pros Vs. Cons, 2007, p.1). Also cigarette smoke can make non-smokers agitated by the smell of cigarette smoke, which is not very pleasant. Also the environment is tainted by the hazardous chemicals, which can cause permanent scars on the earth. For the most part, smoking in public should be banned to help decreases its negative affects.…

We have a right to clean air and to a safe environment, smoking should be banned in public places for many reasons, including the fact that it is a huge health risk for both smokers and non-smokers. We find smoking to be irritating for a number of reasons. The smell of smoke is awful, it clings to your clothing, and it affects the breath of the smoker harshly. Smoke in the air is also irritating to the eyes, causing them to water and itch. Personal hygiene is affected too: smoke stains your teeth and can cause sores inside the mouth. Smoking, simply put, just looks stupid. Smokers whether they like it or not, are criticized and judged daily by strangers just for having a cigarette in their mouth. Frankly, we believe smoking to be a complete waste of the time spent smoking and the money.…

Smoking is the act of inhaling tobacco in to one’s body. This is a very common habit practiced by many throughout the world. Smoking can cause heart attacks and can result in death. Nicotine is the most addictive substance in cigarettes and it is very dangerous. Some say smoking should be legal because they are old enough, or they are a citizen and they have a right do to whatever they desire. But anyone who chooses to smoke, even for a short period of time, may make the decision which will cost them their lives and may even negatively affect the lives of those around them. Smoking tobacco in public areas should be made illegal because the effects of secondhand smoke are extremely harmful; impressionable children could witness and imitate their negative behavior, and banning smoking in public areas this may encourage tobacco users to quit their unhealthy habit.…

Researchers have raised a reliable and valid argument not to ban smoking in public places. Thomas A. Lambert from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law says “Does a smoker have the right to fill the air with his or her smoke, or do non-smokers have the right to smoke-free air? In other words, who “owns”the air? A smoking ban effectively gives nonsmoking patrons the right to the air. By…
