You are advised to read carefully the following instructions and the ‘Notice to candidates printed on the verso of your timetable.
IDENTIFICATION AND ADMISSION INTO THE EXAMINATION ROOM
In case you are above eighteen you should bring your National Identity Card each time you attend an examination session. If you are under eighteen you will receive the MES Identity/Admission Card from the Supervisor on the first day of the written examination and you should bring this card each time you sit for an examination.
You should bring either your Student Identity Card or NTA Identity Card each time you sit for an examination session. In case you do not possess any of the above two documents, you should produce an appropriate documentary evidence duly certified by the Head of School. The documentary evidence should bear your photograph and the seal of the school.
1.3 You should place your National Identity Card/MES Identity Card/Student Identity Card/NTA Identity Card on your desk throughout each examination session for identification.
YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BE PROPERLY DRESSED.
2. KEY TIME AND TIME TO ATTEND EXAMINATION CENTRE
Key time is a time, local to each country when all candidates must be either in an examination or under Full Centre Supervision.
For Mauritius the Key Time for the morning session is 09:00 and 13:00 for the afternoon session. All candidates entering for examinations in a session will be under Full Centre Supervision at the above Key Time.
2. Examinations for the morning papers are normally scheduled at 08 00 hours, the afternoon papers at 12 00 hours.
3. There are a few papers which are scheduled after the Key Time. For morning papers starting after 09:00 you should be in attendance at your respective centre as from 08:45 unless you are already at the centre taking another paper. For afternoon papers starting after 13:00 you should be in attendance at your respective centre as from 12:45 unless you are already at the centre taking another paper. You will be under Full Centre Supervision.
When you will be under Full Centre Supervision you can have access to your books and notes. However, you will not have any access to telephones, mobile phones, the internet or any means of external communication.
You are strictly advised to be in attendance at your centre at time indicated on column ‘Time to attend Examination Centre’ on your timetable. In case you arrive late or after the starting time/key time you are warned that Cambridge MAY NOT ACCEPT YOUR SCRIPT.
If you arrive late for an examination, you may be admitted to the examination room to sit the examination. However, Cambridge may not accept your script. If you arrive after the Key Time, Cambridge will pay particular attention to the extent to which it considers the security of examination was maintained.
If you do not attend Full Centre Supervision, where required, you will be considered as late. This case will be reported to Cambridge and Cambridge reserves the right not to accept your script.
You will take both papers on the same day with a supervised break of 30 minutes as indicated on the letter submitted to you. You are requested to contact your Centre Supervisor on the day you take your first written paper. You should bring your lunch as you will not be allowed to leave the examination room between any two papers. You are also advised to make the necessary transport arrangements, as the examination may end late on such days.
Timetable clashes between two examination bodies will not be considered.
