Should Ridgeline High School ban sports? Most students who attend Ridgeline High School and their parents have been debating this question for a little while now. Sports at the high school are popular. The most popular sports that people play and watch are football, soccer, tennis, hockey, and basketball. 50% of Ridgeline High School's student body plays sports throughout their years of high school enrollment. Ridgeline High School should keep allowing team sports as athletes are more likely to earn better grades, and they have better physical health through their lives. Sports are beneficial for instance, athletes who play sports tend to have better grades. Athletes who play any type of sport have less time to do homework, accordingly they are better at time management. They maintain an average GPA of a 2.0 or they can't play sports, unless they boost their grades back up. One researcher says, "High quality organized sports helps students earn better grades"("Youth Sports"). This quote states athletes involved in extra academics are able to earn better grades. Sports push athletes to do their best in school all over the nation. If somebody were to play football for Ridgeline High School, that student athlete …show more content…
That way athletes can have better physical health. Sports could also help children with their self-discipline. Sports also help with social life, and social skills. Further, proficient communication skills are necessary between teammates and coaches, as a result athletes are able to compete in other areas of their lives and are better prepared for college and the job market. We should all be for sports, since they help us all to be more active. Sports also make you smarter, because when you exercise it enhances your brain power. You also learn how to work with other people. Sports also help you to improve your attitude, and sleep patterns to feel great the next day or on game
