Should Performance Enhancing Drugs Be Allowed In Sports?
Being a pro player takes a lot of time and training to achieve great things. Imagine somebody else that cheats so they can take all the fame and money without going through what most pro athletes go through. Those people use PEDs so they can achieve more than others, and it isn't fair. Performance enhancing drugs shouldn't be used in sports. Performance enhancing drugs are illegal in pro leagues and college. They also shouldn't be used because they have severe health risks, and it’s better for your body to grow naturally.
Performance enhancing drugs are used all the time in the sports. But of all the sports, baseball has the most issues with performance enhancing drugs. Pro baseball leagues have found out that these drugs are mostly coming from Latin countries that have access to them and sell them. In the MLB there are more Latin players now than there has ever been. The MLB decided to have its first mandatory drug test in 2005. 12 players tested positive, and 7 of them were Latino players. They have caused too many problems in sports leagues and need to be stopped. I also believe that the MLB should work harder to stop drugs and steroids from getting into the league. My opinions on that are they should be having more drug test and they should be banning more substances that players are using. PEDs are also causing issues with players health, and I'm sure the MLB wouldn't want to be known for not caring about any players’ health. I also understand why people might want them to use PEDs, but I think players should do that by naturally growing their body. Even though people think that using PEDs will help them, someday it won't matter anymore and you will have to deal with the consequences of testing positive on a drug
