Should Ipads Be Allowed In Schools
According to Albert Einstein, “I fear the day the technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” I believe that iPads should not be in schools because they distract students during school and that students need less screen time.
First of all I believe that Pads should not be in schools because they distract students when the teacher is teaching. Some schools are banning cell phone and iPods, but iPads stay. Students might have the same social media apps and games on their iPad’s, that they have on their cell phones or iPods. During school social media and games distract students from the teacher. Some parents are worried that all their children do during school is play games and post stuff on social media. And for some students that is true. Therefore I think that schools shouldn’t have iPads because of all the different apps that distract students when they are supposed to be learning.

I do think that students with disabilities should get iPads, but the whole student body does not need one. My opposition believes that the iPads are lightweight, and they are light but it just makes them easier to drop and break. They also like the iPads because of all the apps. But I think the apps are the problem. There are over 1.5 million apps in the apple app store, and 528,632 of those apps are games. Now think of all the different apps that are on the iPad’s of the student

Did you know that more than half of the world’s students are using tablet computers? To all the students out there who are not lucky enough to even use a computer (at home or at school), I am deeply sorry for you since half of the people that are at the same age as you are surrounded by information, and are improving their knowledge of the world everyday. No worries! After this speech you will have all the rights to go against who ever would not let your school have laptops/computers. "How is it possible to convince my headmaster to let us have computers in school?” A Chinese proverb once said: “Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they were born in a different time.” It clearly states how the minds of the elders and the juniors are so different since they were born in different times or even centuries. Would you rather listen to a person who has a mind to create more possibilities and not stick to the old rules or a person who sticks any same old rules that their elders once told them and rule the school? I bet you most people would choose a person who creates more possibilities than an old man who sticks to the rules and not let the school have technology. I mean, what is the point of a school, which only has books and pencils, and never interact with visual presentations; it would make the students lives in to hell! When they grow up, what job would require them to only write in books and pencils? If your child does not know anything about technology, what can they even be when they grow up? Nothing is my answer to that. You might say an architect, but sadly, they do use computers too, since after they finish the planning and design of the building, they would have to scan it on a computer and send it out to the managers. Our lives depend on technology and computers. Kids in school used to write on paper and read out of books But the fact is, more and more kids in school…

I believe technology should be used in moderation for children. I don’t agree with parents just giving their phones to their children because they need them quiet, or to sit still. For children to be at home and siting with a tablet or on a computer to coming to school and doing the same is hard for a teacher. I personally don’t have “technology” in my classroom that the children have access too. But the technology is growing quicker each day, we use it literally every day of our lives, it’s inevitable. Kids are drawn to video games anyway so we might as well put something educational. We have no choice but to go along for the ride.…

Every parent wants nothing more then their child to succeed. They want their child to develop and learn with out struggle. In this day in age we have access to so many devices that can help contribute to a child’s success. Many will argue that a device such as a I-pad or mobile device will hinder ones learning. In 2005 an Arizona high school passed out iBooks to all of its students instead of the traditional textbook (Source A). School officials were under the impression that having this technology would further engage their students in learning, though what they failed to address is other things it might engage their students in. Teenagers of this age already have short attention spans, and when using the internet, the moment a student gets bored they can click out and focus on something that suits them more than hundred year old articles about the Declaration of Independence, and instead spend hours scrolling though Tumblr or watching pointless music videos- or porn (Source E). Until schools figure out a way to quality control the internet, passing out laptops and iPads will not necessarily engage their students in learning.…

As a former public school teacher and administrator, I am typically not in favor of anything that might cause a distraction to the pedagogical process. Over the past several years we have seen the rise of many gadgets that have done just that. For me, the most intrusive apparatus arriving in the classroom that continues to vex educators has been the smartphone. Teachers are forced to constantly perform the “turn that off,” “log off that,” “put that away,” dance everyday resulting in the loss of valuable learning time. Now, we have the fidget spinner.…

In conclusion, when considering all of the negative impacts on students as a result of using their cell phones during class, there is no doubt that schools should not opt to allow them. It is proven that cell phones are not beneficial to students in school, they are a major distraction for students, leading them to poor academic performance. A large percentage of schools around the country do not have the infrastructure to support digital learning, and not all of the students come from families which have good economic possibilities that can afford…

Schools should not participate in Shut Down Your Screen Week. Our electronic devices contain useful information that gives us easy access to resources, such as books and assignments. In the article “Is Google Making us Stupid?”, the text explicitly states that “access to the Internet’s information lets us think better and faster.” This shows us how devices improve the learning environment by granting students easily accessible information. Technology in schools provide students with an advantage, and should not be taken away.…

In this conflicting viewpoint assignment, we had to utilize ProCon.org and other credible sources to further our erudition on different viewpoints. An example of a controversy that held two great viewpoints, was whether students should temporally use tablets or textbooks. Tablets are a part of technology and is one of the main objects millennials use today. Books have been around for centuries and have yet to fail us in expanding our learning. “Books allow you to fully explore a topic and immerse yourself in a deeper way than most media today.” (Mark Zuckerberg, 2015).…

Cell phones may be a very useful tool in school because they contain multiple uses including a camera, a messaging system, a calculator, and even a web browser on some models. This may sound like a good suggestion to have one in school, but allowing cell phones in school is not a good idea. Many students will abuse their cell phones abilities like texting in class which will distract the student and prevent the student from learning. Therefore, cell phones should not be allowed in school because it will lure the student to use it and it will cause many problems for the student and the teacher.…

Again, to express the importance of this issue in our society is very important for our future generations. Technology is not going in a backwards direction and to not experience certain tools at an early age may damper your skills later on in life. There are a multitude of schools all around the country that are just now starting to acquire MacBooks and iPads for use in the classroom. There have been some issues associated with the program at some schools, but just as any new program, the small issues are worked out at first and the outcome will be a more comprehensive system of…

It has come to my attention that the students of this school, in particular the incoming freshman, will be required to use IPads during this school year. The idea of using such technology is an advantage in some cases, like the continual ability to stay informed through the internet and the light weight of the device. However, there are other situations where IPads, being the only source for information, resources, and school supplies, are inappropriate for our students. Thus, I ask for your consideration in not implementing such devices in this school.…
