Should Guns Be Allowed In Schools Essay
Throughout the years there have been multiply heart breaking gun violent incidents on college grounds, which have led to hundreds of deaths and injuries. Recently, there has been a lot of debate on whether guns should be allowed on college premises. While it is in the United States constitutional rights to bear arms, guns should not be allowed on college grounds, because it can increase the violence, put a financial burden on the schools, and could create stress and fear in the classrooms. As college boards allow guns on campus, it will initially increase the amount of violent situations on college grounds. When a person knows the assaulter it makes it harder to pull a gun on them. Additionally, sexual assaults are often combined with drinking from both the person getting rapped as well as the rapist (Schwarz 4). In this situation it would not be a good idea to have a concealed handgun because of the blurry mental state the two people are in. Arming a girls with pepper spray would do the job justice and it would be less harmful than arming them with a gun. Likewise, one is surely right that it the second amendment granted US citizens the right to bear arms, nevertheless, these rights come with limitations. One cannot publicize to others that they have a gun to scare them or get them to do what the gun holder wants. It is also against the bill of rights to start a violent riot and with guns allowed in colleges it is more likely to happen then if it was banned.
