Should Ex Felons Be Allowed To Vote Essay
This rule has been a controversy with many polls because over 5.85 million citizens are not allowed to vote due to disenfranchisement. This could determine our current leaders in charge by their votes that they do not get the chance to use. With this over 38% of the felons being African Americans, more than 2.2 million people are not allowed to vote due to their felon restrictions.
There are many reasons I believe ex-felons should be allowed to vote after they have faced their sentences. The vote in the presidential election is never accurate because many people are not allowed to vote, and many others choose not to. With many of the prisoners being democrats, this takes away from all their votes with a mass of the people not being allowed to vote. My call to action is to do a petition. By singing this petition is letting people know that we are for allowing ex-felons to vote as it is one of the civil rights. While signing this petition please put your name, address, phone number, and signature. I will make sure all names are documented and shown to the representative Curtis Jackson. Also on April 20th at 8pm there will be a protest. We will go down to city hall and walk and blast the social media on our walk. Post it on everything to Facebook, snapchat, and Instagram.
