My first reason will be that competitive sports gives you great health benefits ranging from physical health to mental such as the functioning of the heart, lowering the risk of diabetes, and teaches how to compete in other situations outside of the sport. Competitive sports helps the functioning of the heart because each time you run or just stay active your heart beats faster and as it does this it pumps more blood through the body, and with this your heart continues to work at a maximum level. Competitive sports is also great to reduce the chance of heart disease it is also said by Kristen moore which is a physiatrist who earned her medical degree at wayne state university of medicine. Exercising for 30 minutes or more on most days can help you lose weight, improve your cholesterol, and even lower your blood pressure by as many as five to seven points.

The existence of college athletics is often justified on the grounds that its success attracts students and is far more than just extracurricular activities. I tend to agree with that. However, a common counterpoint is its cost. Those who believe this statement students argue they shouldn't support athletics since its rising expenses and the pursuit of more revenue to support college sports have become a destabilizing force. Such as the words of Sally Jenkins, "Athletic departments take in more money than ever — and spend it just as fast". That is an understandable concern. Most of the time, college spending on athletics seems is growing far more quickly than spending on academics, and seems mostly dependent students fee. Even though college…

Should you only reward youth athletes who earn their trophies? Participation trophies the easy way out. Participation trophies not only harm youth athletes, nut are a waste of money in youth organizations. Giving participation trophies decreases motivation. It is ok to give participation awards to 6-8 year old's, but not to older youth athletes. Participation trophies should not be given because it teaches kids that you can get an award for just showing up. According to the "Trophies for All" youth athletes are being rewarded with participation trophies.…

So, as a result of that, they attempt to become professional and the do not succeed. Now they can not go back to school and get good grades to then be able to get a well-paying job. It has been a debate for quite some time as to whether college athletes should be paid for their work on the field. They are some of the hardest working individuals that obtain intense practices and demanding college courses, and many believe that they should be rewarded for their hard work. But the ongoing debate is whether it is right to pay these players as if they were employees. Many major colleges provide the best services for their athletes by providing them with the greatest gyms to workout in, free health insurance for injuries, transportation, food, equipment, and most of the time, a full four-year scholarship. On top of all of these things that are provided, does it seem right to be paying these students as well? Determination and motivation for greatness during college should be enough; therefore, I don’t think that college athletes should be paid.…

One of those regulations is a required education GPA based on the schools division and student body. There are many schools that have allegedly ignored this regulation and allowed athletes that did not meet the requirements to play at the college level. The System for college athletes isnt perfect, and needs to be worked on, a big problem we cannot seem to agree is how to compensate the student-athletes who drive the NCAA. I would like to start off with a question. Are college athletes being compensated enough for the effort they put forth today? Every Day they wake up early and represent their university whether they are putting in work in class or on the field. Each student-student athlete generates tons of money for their university and they don’t see a dime other than their scholarship that may or may not been renewed every year. Keep that question in mind while reading this essay, and form your own opinion.…

College athletes today are competing in sports at high level. Athletes today feel as though they should get a payment for the sport they compete in. Paying athletes would be difficult for certain schools because there would be an issue involving money. If the student athlete can find a way, he or she should be able to endorse products or make money off their jersey if people want to purchase it. The strongest argument for pay for play is the idea that schools are making enormous amounts of money off of their student-athletes, which is entirely untrue. Only two dozen schools in Division I sports actually post a profit.…

Physical exercise is one of the best protective measures against heart disease (Bird & Reynolds, 2002). Physical activity strengthens the heart muscle and increases the blood supply to the heart; this in turn lowers blood pressure, increases good HDL cholesterol, decreases LDL (bad) cholesterol levels and reduces the chance of forming abnormal blood clots which can cause angina and heart attacks (Weil, 2004). Further more, a healthy heart supplies the needed oxygen to all other body organs enabling them to work more efficiently, promoting a positive spiral effect of health benefits.…
