So the question is if they make all that money should college athletes get paid? This has been an argument topic for a while now and some say college athletes should and some say college athletes shouldn’t get paid. There are many reasons for both of why they should or shouldn’t. If college athletes were to get paid, it could help the athletes financially, it could make the sport more competitive, and it is like a full time job to the athletes.

An average of about 40 hours a week is a full time job. A college athlete trains about 90 hours a week. If they are spending most of their time training, why aren’t they getting paid like a full time job. While college athletes are handed scholarships, there are many other things it cant cover. The average full-time work schedule is about 40 hours a week. If a college athletes spends this much time in their sport, why aren’t they getting paid? But, they aren’t required to play 40 hours week. If they have 10 hours a week for classes, the athlete spends 50 hours a week studying. This means that college athletes have to work 90 hours per week just to remain in school This is the equivalent to working two full-time jobs. Athletes who spend 90 hours a week training also find themselves starving.
On the other hand, there are some reasons on why they shouldn’t get paid. The problem with paying the athletes is would all the athletes be paid the same? If so it would be unfair for players that don’t show up on national television is getting paid the same amount as an athlete competing with 33 million people watching them. Also, they shouldn’t be paid if they are on a athletic scholarship. If players think they’re good enough to be paid then they can make it to the professionals.
As we can say, NCAA is one of the most popular foundation around. So, the question still is Should College Athletes be Paid? There are many reasons on why they should. But, there are also many reasons why they shouldn’t. This has been an argumentive topic for a while. Do you think they should be

The National Collegiate Athletic Association is corrupted with sneakiness, unfairness and greediness, particularly in division one colleges. In North America, sports play a huge role, especially sports like football, hockey, basketball and baseball. Sometimes this causes us to become vanished of fairness, like are the players being treated right? A great example of injustice in sports is amateurism of football players in division one colleges. Division one and division two athletes must obtain amateurism, which is playing the sport as a hobby rather than for the money, many would define amateurism as worthy but it is really tainted and monopolized!…

"Should College Athletes Get Paid To Play" Forget about the game-winning touchdown, forget about the cheerleader girlfriend, and forget the pageantry. What about the hard earned money college athletes will never see and earned? In the world of college sports its win or go home, and to the winners go the spoils. Most successful college sports teams rake in millions of dollars in revenue. Steve Spurrier, the coach for the Florida Gators signed a six year contract where he would make a little over 2.5 million dollars a year not including certain benefits like a free car for his wife. So with the institutions and coaches getting rich off their player who is to say that the player does not deserve a share of the wealth? Most college athletes get around 200-250 dollars a month for living expenses and spending money, this is very small compared to the student who has time to work. Some people say that athletes get paid by having a scholarship but if you look at the ulterior motive behind scholarships I think people would change their minds. Coaches try to get players who they think have the talent to make them win and to persuade them to come to their school they try to give them scholarships. So the whole idea behind a scholarship is to lure the student to come to your school. Scholarships are just a recruitment tactic. Don't confuse what I am saying though I don't think college players should be making millions of dollars but there should be a set salary for all players no matter if they make the highlights everyday or ride the pine. The players should make at least what a person who works making eight dollars and hour would make in a year, and that is a modest salary too. Every player of a college sport puts in countless man-hours of work to their sport instead of going out and getting a job they have to devote all their time to this. A huge debate is should players have the right to their likenesses? If you go to a bookstore…

I strongly believe that college athletes shouldn’t be paid because they're still amateurs at the sport. They aren’t professionals at the sport. Even though their in college they are still learning and they need to pass school then start getting a job to make money. If you compare college amateurs to professionals there will be a big difference and observe why they get paid it will make a lot of sense. According to the text it says “A gentleman never competes for money,” Walter Camp wrote in his 1893 handbook on college sports.”…

There have been ongoing arguments over the past decade of whether or not college athletes should be paid to play. Many argue that they do not have time to get real jobs because the requirements for the sport that they participate in are far too demanding. Others cite that these athletes are provided full scholarships to attend the schools at which they are playing the sport. However regardless of the argument, I still feel that college athletes should not be paid to play.…

College athletes are the hardest working individuals in college. Balancing academics and sports is never a simple task and is especially challenging in college. The athletes are still required to achieve passing grades, although many of them will play professionally. Paying college athletes would benefit all athletes, providing a small stipend for all of the sacrifices they have made practicing, training, and traveling, in addition to school work.…

There are thousands of athletes playing for different colleges. They put their time and effort in it, yet they don’t get paid. When athletes play a sport, they have even more stuff to worry about than a regular student. They have to worry about their grades, staying fit to play, stay healthy, attend to practice every day there’s practice, and then after practice go home and do all their work even though they are tired. How much do they get paid for going through all that? Zero dollars. College athletes should get paid to play too.…

Should we pay college athletes? That is a big topic in NCAA sports right now. People think that college athletes work hard and that they deserve to get paid. Michael Wilbon is one of these people. At first he was against paying college athletes, but now he is all for it. He says that he is interested in seeing the people that make revenue share a little piece of it. Then you have people like a reporter from the Daily Evergreen. He is against paying the athletes. He states that when you are a student athlete it is student first and athlete second, and that if you start paying college athletes it will put being an athlete first. I strongly think that college athletes shouldn’t be paid for playing sports in college. Paying players to play sports in college can cause players to ruin their career, cause the NCAA to be one sided, and would take away scholarships.…

Some people believe they should not be paid because the already receive scholarships to a university which everything is suppose to be payed for. Top colleges athletes already get plenty of benefits, such as scholarships and free tutoring. (Scholastic News 2). However, this is not necessarily always true. Although some universities offer athletic scholarships, they do not pay for all expenses (Time for Kids 3). They are not necessarily getting paid, yes they are getting tuition money for school, rooms, and books, but they are not receiving money to help them if they have an injury, buy clothes, or food. Other people believe college is a place for learning, not earning. If college athletes get paid, they may not be motivated to focus on their schoolwork (Time for Kids 3). Again, this is not necessarily true. Yes, college is a place for learning. But college athletes are focusing and learning for their career they chosen, sports. If they are paid, they will be highly motivated because if they fail their schoolwork, they cannot compete in their sport. Many of the reasons to not pay college athletes are…

Some people believe that college athletes should be paid and others do not. The only thing wrong with paying athletes is they get paid in other ways. College athletes get scholarships, housing, coaches, and opportunities no other college student has. So maybe they shouldn’t get paid but when you step back and look at the whole picture; coaches get paid a lot of money for example coming from Nick Saban (football coach of University of Alabama) he makes over $7 million a year. But think of the team. Yes, the coaches put in a lot of effort to teach his players but the players do the real work.…
