First, teen obesity has lowered because of sports, for example, more than a third of adults in America are classed as obese,(Adult Obesity Facts). which is where sports need to come into play decreasing these statistics. This shows, that America's obesity statistics are the highest in the world currently this is why children should participate in sports to lower these statistics. Additionally, Keith M. This shows, that children who play a sport can become a lot more productive and even more focused in school than children who do not play a sport. Furthermore, Stephen Baddeley, director of sports at the University of Bath said “Their weeks are very pressurised, so top sports people are extremely organized, disciplined, and efficient with their time, which are useful skills in the academic side of their lives,”(Gil). This suggests, that a child who plays a sport can be more organized, and ready to go for a school day. While others may struggle with staying out of trouble it is relatively easy for a child who plays a sport.
