Should Animal Testing Be Banned Research
Do you want to see animals abused and killed sometimes for nothing? Animal testing is flawed and can produce very unreliable results. Around 26 million animals are used every year for scientific and commercial testing. These animals are used to determine the toxicity and effectiveness of medications before they test it on humans. Therefore animal testing should be banned. First of all, research on animals is sometimes flawed because of biased scientists. According to pro-con.org “87% of the studies failed to randomize the selection of animals and 80% did not use blinding (another technique to reduce researcher bias)” This shows that even though scientists have acces to all of these animals, they mess up the researech due to bias, and all

Though animal testing should be banned from ever being practiced or used again, people still view it as a necessity despite all of the evidence against it. Animal testing requires inhumane, unsanitary, unsafe, or cruel conditions that if done to humans would be outlawed since they either reduce the quality of life or cause disease or death. Seeing that animals are living, breathing creatures that want to survive just as much as people do, assuming that test conditions are not good for human kind, then they are not good for any living creatures. Furthermore, they are inherently wrong by nature. Tolerating animal cruelty promotes the same insensitivity that allows cruelty to people, such as serial killers and the early incidents of animal torture.…

An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States fir various types of testing. These animals are used for scientific and commercial testing to develop medical treatments, determine toxicity of medications and chemicals, check the safety of products destined for human use and other biomedical or healthcare purposes. This testing on animals is cruel, inhumane and should be banned. It should be banned because the animals are held and live in inhumane conditions, it is harmful and at times lethal to the animals and there are other research method available that do not require animal testing.…

The first reason why we shouldn’t have animal testing is because animals are getting hurt or abused. “Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year.” The chemicals that the people are using are burning or other worse things to them. The chemicals that they use on the animals could hurt or kill them. Over half of side effects cannot be detected in…

Many people also think that animal research is an amazing practice. They might argue with counter arguments like, If humans never used animal for testing we wouldn't have cured many illnesses that had a devastating affect on humans. Many medical breakthrough would have never happened, like when scientist found a cure for polio. If scientist saved so many lives, why would people want to stop animal testing? It heartless that some people do not want to test on animals, do they want people to die? Scientist can go through many more amazing breakthroughs with the help of animals. The medical and scientific field can advance so much more with the help of couple animals. There are about 5 billion rats, so why does it matter that people use a couple? Yes, there have been medical breakthroughs with the help of animals, but that doesn't mean it will always be okay to do. Like stated before, 90% of experiments are a total fail! Why should animals die when scientist accomplish nothing? That means that scientist are just being ignorant, and they do not want to say that they have failed on a project. Poor animals are dying because these type of people do not stop after killing some animals, they keep on killing. Maybe animals are needed for some project, but not all for others. For example animals are not needed for cosmetics and other companies like that. For example, LUSH Cosmetics has over 900 stores! In all those 900 stores…

In these experiments, there are tons of sources of error. They do not live in a human-like environment, instead they are confined and distressed. Secondly, researchers deliberately infect the animals with diseases they would not normally contract, after being healthy to begin with. Many drugs have varying results between different animals, and animals and humans. For example, penicillin kills guinea pigs, but does nothing to rabbits. According to the food and drug administration, 92% of drugs that pass animal tests fail human tests. Some chemicals that are harmful to animals are okay for humans, as well as the other way around. Animals are being sacrificed for experiments that don’t even have accurate or useful results. If the regulations for the environment test animals live in are enforced, it can reduce some of the factors that make an experiment not a fair…

Animals should NOT be used for testing in labs. There are many reasons why this dilemma should stop. They have different bodies than humans so the tests may react different on them than on humans and that could lead to danger to people. I think if scientists have to lab test on something living then they should pick something overpopulated, but that still is not okay, therefore something needs to be figured out. Or instead of using helpless animals, they should use all natural products and take human volunteers willing to get tested on. Why risk poor helpless little animal’s lives? Why torture them? It is proven that animals are not the best test subjects to use.…

Surprisingly enough, a voluminous amount of companies worldwide are relying on harmless animal testing to make products that you use every day. Businesses such as Band-Aid brand, Colgate, Pert, and even Revlon use this process to make your favorite items that are vital to healing skin, help you to clean your teeth, and keep your hair clean. It is known that animal testing can sometimes be cruel for the animal, but that is only a small percentage of the animals being tested on. Undeniably, animal testing should be allowed because there are many laws protecting the animals being tested on, new vital medicines come from theses harmless tests, and most if the time the animal being tested on benefits from the test being performed.…

According to some national statistics, nearly two-thirds of all animal research has little or nothing to do with curing human diseases or advancing human medicine. Animals testing prolong the suffering of people waiting for effective cures by misleading experimenters in the wrong direction, and wasting resources that could have been spent on more relevant research. Humans and animals may have brains, hearts, lungs, arteries, kidneys, and so on; but animals bodies are made up differently. Dogs for example, they walk on all fours; humans do not use four legs to walk. So to do an experiment that deals with animals legs compared to human leg would be a wasteful matter, dogs legs are formatted different.…

There are some good things about animal testing; however, there are way more cons when it comes to using animals for research. Yes, animal testing has lead to many life saving treatments, but there are other testing methods that don’t require animals. Humans often make the misconception that we are genetically similar to animals. Animals are drastically different from humans, so they are very poor test subjects (Mieke). Drugs are required to pass a test before they can be used on animals, yet most drugs that pass the test are harmful to the test subjects (Mieke). The cons overcome the pros of researching on…

Animal testing has been the basis of all medicine and disease breakthroughs for over 50 years. Some people believe animal testing is a necessary and useful way to test and discover new products, but I believe it is not. Millions of animals are dying or being injured just so scientists can experiment to find new substances and products for humans to use, which does not justify for the many lives being lost.…
