Alexander had done many “great” things throughout his lifetime. But behind all of that, he was a vicious, cruel, soulless and murderous villain. He was a greedy, horrible leader. Alexander the Great was not great at all; he was a voracious and hardhearted less than a human being. He did a great deal of things that would be frowned upon today. For example, Alexander slaughtered innocent and holy men. He also treated his troops with disrespect and disregard. Furthermore, he was a reckless and negligent typical military leader.…

In my opinion, Alexander the Great was a terrifying, barbaric villain who conquered many cities and changed many cultures so he could benefit by gaining more land, power and money. One reason I think he is a villain is the way he ruled people to obey him. For example after he conquered cities he sold 30,000 people into slavery and killed over 6,000 people to scare the people of Greece obey to him. He sold the slaves to the rich people so he can gain trust of the people.…

According to Article Lined with gold, “Like Achilles, Alexander had a quick and wild temper. Firstly, Alexander the Great fought in horrific battles that rewarded him with a huge amount of land, resources and prosperity. He engaged in conflicts including the Battle of Granicus, Battle of Isus and the Battle of Tyre, leading him to conquer nations now known as Turkey,Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and a large portion of India. His ambition certainly paid off, and as Arrian, an historian living at the time of Alexander wrote, ”…He would always have searched beyond for something unknown, and if there had been no other competition, he would have competed against himself.” This source is quite reliable, as it reinforces other accounts of his attitude correctly, however Arrian basically recorded all the conquests of Alexander the Great, so it may be influenced or recorded with a certain bias that Alexander himself imposed.…

Alexander the Great was a hero because he did great things for many people. Alexander the Great built new cities where others had been destroyed (You Decide, pg 181). This statement shows how he tried to do good for society. Alexander wanted people to have homes and live a happy and healthy life. People liked Alexander and what he did.
