Crosby Defeats his Enemy

One cold and gloomy day in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania a guy named Sidney Crosby was just having a normal day. Crosby was a enormous and thick guy. He didn’t like it when people would get bullied. His dream was to play professional hockey for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was always practicing hockey to be as good as he possibly could. He played on a little league team that had won their league five seasons in a row. Sidney's enemy was a fella named Shady McCoy. They play each other every season and it is always a rough game. One day when Crosby had got home from hockey practice, his mom announced, “I have some great news.”
Crosby asked excitedly, “what is the news?”
Crosbys mom exclaimed, “ Scouts from the penguins will be coming to your next game to watch you.”

Now it was time for the game to start. It was Crosbys first game in the pros, and all he wanted to do was play good and score a goal. Five minutes into the game,Crosby surprised the whole worlds by scoring a goal. Crosby had never been more happy in his life. Crosby was skating around and next thing he knew he was laying on the ice because he had got body checked. He looked at who it was that hit him and it was Shady McCoy. Sidney was so confused, because he didn’t know that he was going against his little league enemy Shady McCoy. Not only were they little league enemies but they would also become enemies now too. These teams would meet again many more times during the lengthy season. After a long and brutal game, the Penguins were able to come away with the dub on the first game of the season. After the game, Mike did his post game speech that soon would become one of the most famous speeches of all time.     The day the color barrier was broken in hockey. Although it was only two games it was O’ree’s time to shine. The Boston Bruins were down a man and needed a left wing so they looked at their farm team. A farm team is the minor league team that will make up the new NHL team. They saw that Willie was the best player on the farm team. Boston was playing the Montreal Canadiens. After the two games he played with Boston he went back down the minors. After a gap of about three years, Willie was drafted by Boston to play with them for half of a season. In the forty three games he played he had about twenty six penalty minutes. Most of them were because he was discriminated against, so he had a lot of fighting minutes. Willie scored his first NHL goal in the season of 1960-61 against the Montreal Canadiens. Don’t get confused that is also the team he played against in his first NHL game. After the half season he played with the Bruins, he went back down to the minor league and ended his hockey career with the San Diego Mariners in 1978-79. After his hockey career, Willie was offered to be the director of youth development for its diversity task force. The NHL/USA Hockey Diversity Task Force is a non-profit program for children that encourages kids to learn and play hockey together.…

    By the age of ten Sidney was already being compared to Wayne Gretzky who is the greatest hockey player to ever play the sport. Sidney had his share of off ice attention. For example after putting up 275 points in one season parents made a petition to make kick Sidney out of the league. To solve this problem Sidney got put into a league where the guys were 2-3 years older than him. That season Sid put up 200 points. It was clear that Sidney would be a first round pick in the NHL. Later on Sidney joined the QJHL (Quebec Junior Hockey League) with the Rimouski Océanic. With his two seasons with them he put up over 150 points. It was clear that Sidney was ready for the NHL so he declared for the NHL draft. Everyone knew that Sid was going to be first overall pick but no one knew what team that would be lucky to have him. Then the day came the Pittsburg Penguins won the lottery draft and were granted the first overall pick. Sidney was drafted to the pens on July 30th 2005. The second Crosby was drafted he was an instant star. Everyone knew who Crosby was. Before he even made his debut he was already being compared to Gretzky for his outstanding skill.…
