The day after
The sun drowning into the horizon, it's rays of light glimming in the darkness as the clouds faded and the pale moon peaked at me through the stars through the window. I awoke rubbing my groggy eyes. I lied in a silk sheeted bed as the memories from yesterday's events flooded my mind. As I quickly got up and shot to the window to be blinded by the beams of sunlight in the early morning sky, curiosity swept over my mind.
"Why did he do this?" murmured to myself curiously "who was he really?"
I walk into the kitchen to see a pantry full of food ( jams, sweets, cereal, meats, etc). " This is every starved child's dream." I said to no one in particular.
After I finished my food I had a curiosity about the rest of the house. I came to a horrific dim hallway with beige walls and gold colored carpet. I went from door to door to see what was in each chamber, but one in particular caught my attention. I heard sounds coming from the other side of the door, it didn't sound human, but after

" Whitney must have noticed that I was gone by now." "Have they tried to look for me." I said rhetorically.
Getting up the courage walk back to the door. Hanging beside the door was a metal rusted key, I felt nervousness about what was behind this door. I put the key in the small hole, with a low sounding click the door unlocked. I grabbed the handle and opened the door with a small creak roaring through the empty beige hallways. As I stepped into the room my eyes went wide at the sight in front of me. A human type figure commingling at me like some kind of wildebeest.
I must have blacked out for a minute, because the next thing I know I'm laying on the den floor with the unknown figure onto of me. He stabbed a sharp object into my chest, and my breathing became slower and slower until it stopped and all I could see was

At quarter to two, the moon shone down with an ashen glow. Its sullen radiance provided the perfect ambience in front of his bedroom window. Lighting barely filtered through the layers of fog, another set of curtains that hung beyond paned glass. Expected footsteps pierced through thin walls, disrupting him from slumber and once again, forcing his attention across the street.…

Before making landfall on Aiolia Island, a strong north wind blew the ship briefly off course towards the island of Delos. In an attempts to rally the moral of my companions after the loss of our friends, I ordered the ship to be docked for the night, and they were more then happy to oblige. Delos is an island of dense forrest trees, so thick one could not peer through the brush. It was difficult finding a clearing large enough to land the ship, wise Eurylokhos spotted a break in the foliage.…

We each give our money to the man at the door. He was tall, with a creepy smile on his face. “good luck” He said sneeringly, and guided us in through the door. It looks like a lot of work was put into this. the room starts with a long corridor, that looks like it was just put there. they probably built it in with some type of heavy cardboard. The only light is provided by flickering lights above us. Right as we get about halfway through, the lights in the corridor shut off. I stopped, and five seconds later the lights snapped on, and a plastic head was hanging in front of me, six inches from my nose. my heart drops and then i realize it's not real. From behind me I could hear comments such as “oh jeez”, and “I wasn’t expecting that.” (They sent in a group of about six people at a time, and I was at the front, so I was getting all of the spooks.) I push the head out of the way and continue on Through the corridor. I enter a room through a doorway. I see a glimpse of another door, as the lights turn off and the door behind us is slammed shut. We are left in the dark for what seemed like forever, when i hear shuffling going across the floor. Suddenly, the lights quickly flicker, and in the middle of the room we see a man with a terrifying mask standing there right in front of us. The lights turn off, and on again, and the man is gone. We step forward to a doorway with a sign perched on the top. The sign reads, “THE…

The first thing I remembered was the intense headache, a black void sucking me into the depths of darkness. The only sound preventing me from falling into the abyss was the muttering behind the wall in front of me. I could just make out two men behind an opaque wall, conversing with what appeared to be a clip board in the man on the left’s hand. Beyond the walls, I heard the creaking of rusty door hinges as the inner door swung open. I heard the sound of footsteps as the two men approached the inner wall, treading upon metal. I heard the buzz of a card, and the two men entered. One Guard and a man in a lab coat.…

Eventually, I reach the front door, opening it and stepping outside. No person seemed to find anything unordinary. Casually, I merge into the people, sauntering like I had no care in the world. The dark alley comes into view and I move a little faster, with my sauntering shifting into a rushed walk. I got closer and closer. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder, halting me.…

As the sunset tucks down, I space out to grasp onto thoughts of realization. Days passed by as if they were battling with the wind. Lying in bed in the middle of the night while sleep eludes me, a noise breaks through the silence. Oh my God! What was that!? Maybe it was just my imagination, or maybe it was just the house settling. There it is again! I must be hearing things. I get cold and my body starts to shiver uncontrollably. I peek to where the sound comes from and I could swear I see something through the dark room; it appears even darker than the surrounding area. Oh my! I think it just moved. My breathing becomes labored and I pull the covers over my head, trying to calm myself down while making my brain work through what just happened. Was I dreaming? Or did I just see a ghost?…

I was staring at the door, making it out in my mind rather than seeing it, in the dark. I lay quite still—a victim already—but the arrhythmia of my heart was fleeing, knocking this way and that against its body-cage. How finely tuned the senses are, just out of rest, sleep! I could never listen intently as that in the distractions of the day; I was reading every faintest sound, identifying and classifying its possible threat.…

    A Stormy Night

Who could it possibly be at this hour and in this kind of night, I mused as I pushed back my chair irritably to answer the door. As I was about to slip back the latch, a small, seldom heard voice in the back of my head, which only spoke in times of danger, cautioned me to be careful. My hand hovered over the latch hesitantly. Could the stranger on the other side be a dangerous person? Even in the middle of a night like this, the very notion of a dangerous person wanting to take the trouble to harm a plain Jane like me seemed absurd. I peered out through the glass peephole in the centre of the door, but it was so dark outside that all I could see was a dark silhouette.…

I stopped as I began to continue listening to the steps. Later, as the footsteps began to sound closer, they started to get faster running down at me. Panicked and scared, I began to run down the stairs with my flashlight shining the darkness. As I began to get close to the bottom of the building, the footsteps stopped, and there was silence again. I was there exhausted, and tired, wanting to go already, but I then regain myself and started to walk towards the door that leads to outside the…

I remember standing there, hoping this is just a crazy dream, or nightmare and that when I wake up everything will be ok. All though I know deep down this is no dream. I walk down the silent road, and through the fog I see what I think is a house. I move in closer towards it and can easily see that it’s an old, large house, it was the only thing around, my only hope. I walk towards the door, chills running up my spine. I give it a tap and almost immediately the door flings open. But who opened it? There was no one there. Cautiously I walk in. I hear a loud screeching noise behind me. I quickly turn around to see the door has closed. The house is empty, except for a huge mirror t my right, but as I look at it I see a reflection, but it’s not me. It’s a pale girl wearing an old white dress. Suddenly a loud scream comes from the mirror, I turn and run, terrified. I push through the door, but instead of being outside I find myself in another room, alone.…
