Shawshank Redemption is an incredible movie about patience, friendship, loyalty, and hope. It takes place inside the Shawshank Prison where two men, Red Redding and Andy Defresne, are struggling through life sentences. These men face hardship in ways only utter determination would survive and they did. The movie influences us by showing how having hope and never letting it go has amazing results.

I chose this film because it shows us that no matter how hard times can get, we can get through it. Perseverance and staying positive, even when things are negative, ...if we persevere and stay positive even when things are negative, we will get through. Every theme that this story builds on pertains to almost anyone’s life, which is what I think makes it such a good feeling movie. Red and Andy make the best out of a situation that most would wither from and actually do, in the movie. One of the most loveable characters in the film, Brooks the prison librarian, actually hangs himself when he is on his parole because he has lost all hope from being institutionalized. Brooks didn’t hang himself from losing all hope after being institutionalized, he just didn’t know hope to cope in the free world after being locked up for so long. He was lonely and missed his friends; it was a world he knew nothing about. When he first was locked up in 1905 and was not released until 1955…

The ideas of patience and friendship are strong throughout the whole movie. Andy masterminds an intricate tunnel he digs over the course of twenty years to dig himself to freedom. Your second sentence is great but Andy’s escape happened at the end of the movie and as it is, does not really relate to your opening sentence.
