Here are some of the ways in which men face sexism. For one, if a man and a woman both get arrested for the same crime, the male will almost always get the longer sentence. The court has been sexist this way for a long time. This is just wrong. Would you like if you got a longer sentence than someone else for no reason? I didn't think so. Men are expected to show little to no emotions when it comes to things people would normally get emotional about. Woman

The Simpson 's, Everybody Loves Raymond, My Wife and Kids, what do these shows all have in common? One word: male bashing. Male bashing is the "stereotyping of men as brutal, stupid or otherwise objectionable" as defined by Fox news.# It has turned into an epidemic these days where it could found everywhere from songs to commercial ads to television shows. Although male bashing has spread into our televisions, workplace, communities and minds, the ongoing belittling of the men in our society needs to come to a halt.…

It pains me to hear these things because all they are are misinformed opinions or sexist statements. To start with, the dictionary definition of Feminism is as follows, “The advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.” Straight away, this demolishes any argument that feminism a sexist movement. Equality is not a hard word to understand. It means, in this case, men and women having the same opportunities, rights and respect from each other respectively. Women are not equal to men. This is an indisputable fact. Yes, the pay gap exists. Yes, equality has come a…

Some say a woman should be happy to have a partner, regardless of how they treat her. Others make gender-based statements on what women can and can’t do. The fact that some people dislike female presidential candidates merely based on the gender is an current example of the adversity women face in “men’s jobs” still face. I’ve heard a multitude ignorant comments spewed from many about how a woman’s privileges and roles can’t be equal to that of a man’s, and is that really any different than Tom’s cruel comments about his opinion of women in the…

Sexism can begin in the simplest of places; a primary school for example. Picture this, a group of boys are playing a football match in the school playground, one of the girls in the class decides to join the game. The boys are aware of her presence, but decide to ignore this fact and continue the match around her. She approaches the boys at the end of the match and asks:…

Right? Well, it isn't that simple. Through the systematic and deliberate mistreatment of women, the world has been forced to a state of hypersensitivity towards the plight of the women. As your changing bodies force you to acknowledge the plight of YOU and pretty much only you, you become no better than the oppressors. When considered, why is sexism seldom attributed to men? Because men have all the flashy jobs, the nice cars, and opportunities abound; well this in and of itself is the basis behind our unsung sexism. Behind a mask of opportunity lies the humble boy, scared that he himself won't add up to what everyone expects of him. That he won't meet a girl, get married, have children. Underneath this mask of opportunity lies a sensitive and loving creature - but this isn't ideal, no, a man should be tough, he should be the protector of the family. Not care what anyone says or thinks.... This is the ideal man. This ideal man is found in none other than one of my favorite tv series’ Star Trek, he is the beloved captain of the starship Enterprise, James Tiberius Kirk. While this definition is odd, Captain Kirk was a knowledgeable and compassionate leader who thought of nothing except his crewmates first, showing emotion and empathy that were unprecedented in…

Women have way more rights than they did back in the 1800s but are still not equal to men. White women are only paid 78 cents to every man’s dollar, and it is even less for women of color. But that, sadly, isn’t the worst of it. Recent studies have shown that 1 in every 3 women are sexually harassed in their lifetime. Furthermore, only about 15% of women who are sexually abused or harassed report it because most of the time, their abusers don’t get convicted and/or the women gets blamed for it, saying it was because of something she was wearing or because she was flirting. Those are just two examples of the way that sexism is still alive and well in today’s society. Feminism has come very far because of women like Elizabeth Stanton and Lucretia Mott but it definitely still has a very long way to go before women have all the rights that men…

It also found that men receive sentences that are on 63% longer than women and that men in general are fifteen times as likely to be…

Women in the past did traditionally change their last name to their husband’s last name. I absolutely do not refute that was due to women being viewed as the “lesser gender”. It essentially states that women do not have the brain capacity to choose for themselves and they needed a man to tell them how to live their lives and what to call themselves. It makes them out to be inferior. That a man defines the woman. Obviously this is morally corrupt and bankrupt and you would have to be an ignorant buffoon to still think this way. With the exclusion of the occasional sexist most people in the United States I personally don’t believe think this way anymore. Some people are more sexist others to a varying degree, but overall society has come a long…
