Here we go again! The drinking is non-stoppable with Jennifer Jenkins. Miss Jenkins would drink till she falls asleep. It’s a constant thing with her. I just can’t wait till she actually learns her lesson. She has completely ruined this relationship with all the drinking. What am I supposed to do? Every time I try talking to her, we end up fighting and then she drinks even more. I’ve gotten to the point, where I’m taking matters into my own hands and drugging her up to teach her that lesson.
“Good morning, I see you’ve started drinking already. It’s so early though.”
“Well what do you expect, I’m stressed.”
“Okay, well I made breakfast and homemade orange juice for you. Eat up and enjoy your meal, I’m going to take a shower and get ready for my walk with Buffy today. Remember to drink up, I made that orange juice with extra love this morning.”
After about an hour, I had finished getting dressed and was about to head out when I noticed Miss Jenkins on the floor. I realized my plan had worked I don’t want to go to jail for this. I don’t want to be blamed for this. I must hurry up and make it seem like a suicide attempt. Wait, people won’t believe she tried killing herself, what if I say she fell off her commode and blame someone else. I picked Miss Jenkins up from the floor and laid her on the couch, I put some clothes on her because she enjoyed sleeping half naked. I took the beer she had opened and grabbed the half empty bottle of sleeping pills and placed them on the table right next to Miss Jenkins. I grabbed Buffy’s rhinestone leash and headed out with my precious Lhasa apso dog. As soon as I was walking out the building, I saw the doorman and remembered I had to tell him about Miss Jenkins.
“Doorman. I need you to run upstairs to my apartment and call a doctor.”
“Why? What’s the matter?” he said. “Miss Jenkins fell off her commode and is in serious

Love is a powerful force that drives one person to draw a deep affection towards another. When analyzed, the short story entitled "Love in L.A.," by Dagoberto Gilb, shows how one can see many reasons in seeing irony and even satire by the story's title. Through "Jake," the protagonist's definition of "love" is expressed in different fashions, none result in anything positive; He portrays being lazy, irresponsible, somewhat poor, and perhaps something of a con artist, looking for his freedom. Several essences reveal the main character’s true identity throughout the story: a love for image, self-conceit, and daydreaming.…

Later, just a couple of minutes before Prep, I sat by the phone rooms, nauseous about how I would break the world-shattering news to Sophie. Ah, my beloved Sophie, we dated last year until she saw Matt Shauman. But I would have won her back with these tickets. Maybe I can say that I was suspended and Max will get them for her, so as not to break her fragile heart. So, plucking up my last piece of courage, I entered a phone cubicle and dialled her boarding house’s number. Brrrr, Brrrr, with numb fingers, they shook like an earthquake, so wedging the phone between my shoulder and ear, my breathing…

Michele was out of control swinging her arms at Elizabeth. She became violent. She began threatening Elizabeth. With the thought of death in her mind Elizabeth remembered the note that was left for her on her coffee table. The note had a mysterious handwriting and it warned Elizabeth to be careful. She ignored the note thinking it was a prank. Michele picked up a kitchen knife that was on top of a cutting board and began to stab Elizabeth. Daniel was shocked with fear and began to cry for help. Michele standing on top of Elizabeth's bloody body cried as she repeatedly stabbed her. Daniel called the police immediately and explained was happening. The cops arrived soon after the Daniel had called. The minute the cops rushed into the kitchen they were shocked. The way Daniel explained it there was blood everywhere, and a body in between the kitchen table and island. The cops looked around confused as to why the kitchen and everything in it was spotless. The cops split up and rushed through the penthouse eagerly awaiting for Elizabeth’s body to show up. It did, resting in her bed. As if nothing had happened. Elizabeth was awakened by the call of one cop telling the other he had found her. The cops were furious and thought they went to the wrong address. They asked Elizabeth questions about her family and Elizabeth was confused with horror, not only because there were cops in her home, but because her whole family was killed in a car accident, including…

I lost track of time, but all I knew was that the daylight was disappearing. After taking the back roads we had finally approached the Wirraree hospital. The town was awfully quiet, so quiet that I could hear my pounding heart out in the open, making me fall in to great suspicion that I was in some sort of trap ready to be captured. Corrie and I were still in the car with the engine running. I didn’t want to get out just yet, unsure of why, but I knew there was soon to be a reason. Turning my head, I noticed three large security cameras in view. Without thinking clearly, I immediately swerved out of sight into a small dark alleyway not knowing it had a dead end. We hid in there for a few minutes, so I could swiftly think about how I could get Corrie out of the car and safely into the hospital without being seen. Before I really even had a minute to consider my…

At 4am dispatch received a call from the resident at 137 West Alexander Drive, who claimed to have heard a scream from his neighbours house. Captain Jason Long turned the case over to Officer Brice Tyler, Officer Lily Rayne, and I. At approximately 4:30am we arrived at the house knocking on the door. The young man answered with a smile on his face. I had noted that he seemed wide awake, as if he had been up for some time, as he invited us inside. We told him of our cause of being there, and he immediately told us the old man was visiting his sister in another town. He did not give us more details. instead, he showed us that the old mans belongings were exactly in there proper place. Afterward, he asked us to sit down in the bedroom, chatting easily about his evening. Soon after, he seemed to become agitated, raising his voice and speaking angrily. He was soon pacing and hitting the table, threatening us to make us stop agonising him, even though we did not say a threatening word to him.…

Pressing the buttons on the old oven till I hear it finally beep indicating that the timer has started. I go into the living room with my sister settling into the suede couch, putting my feet on the coffee table, trying to contain my excitement about the movie. Every once in awhile Brooke would make this noise, like a grunt almost. I just thought it was her reacting to the sounds of the slasher killing people one by one. The smell of the cookies were getting pretty intense, filling up the room with the smell. As I get up to check on them, Brooke suddenly clutches my arm and looks up at me saying, “Maggi, I think I’m in labor.” My whole body goes limp instead of my eyes that were wide open. My heart begins beating so loud that it’s all that I can hear. I start to panic saying a bunch of unrecognizable words and questions. In that moment, I realized that I need to make her more comfortable, to do that I needed to take my panic nature and put it down deep. I take a couple deep breaths and tell my sister to breath like “hehe-oo” repeatedly, since that’s the only knowledge I remember from the episode in Lost where she has a baby in the…

The morning went so fast, I was slightly nervous about seeing Josie again since it had been three months since our last encounter. I put on a t-shirt and shorts on then stood in front of the mirror as I splashed my face with water. I looked at the clock and saw it was 11:50 so I grabbed my helmet and jacket as I pushed my motorcycle out the garage. It wasn’t until I got to the street before Subway that I realised my phone had fallen out of my pocket and I had left my wallet at home. I knew then I was going to be late and Josie was going to…

Bernard Mac Laverty's novel, Cal, tells the story of how nineteen-year-old Cal McCluskey fall in love with a Catholic widow, Marcella Morton. As later turns out, Marcella's husband was a RUC reserve police man whom Cal earlier helped to murder by being the getaway driver for Crilly, the IRA hitman. Their love remains unattainable mainly because of Cal's involvement in the murder, although he never tells Marcella the truth, the novel ends with Cal's arrest. Throughout the narrative we can find scenes where violence and sexuality fuses, in what follows, I would like to consider these scenes and interpret their significance in the novel.…
