In seventh grade, you will learn new things. Some new things you learn might be very interesting. Some things might be challenging. Some things might not be so challenging. Seventh grade sometimes is easy, but most of the time it's difficult. When your a student in seventh grade, you will be trying several things. You might even struggle if your trying to impress someone or get their attention. When your in seventh grade, a lot of things are really difficult, but seventh grade is not that easy. Some people might think that seventh grade is easy like the other grades, but it's not. Seventh grade will affect your future. It affects your future weather you get good grades or bad grades. Your grades affect weather you'll get into a good or a bad high school. In the story Seventh grade by Gary Soto, a boy named Victor tries to impress this girl named Teresa. Some people in seventh grade might have tried to impress others and end up making a mistake or embarrassing themselves just like Victor. When your in seventh grade, you might have feelings or emotions for

Victor, a character in the story “Seventh Grade” by Gary Soto changes in the story many times, including being nervous, being embarrassed, and being happy. In the first place, at the beginning of the story, Victor is nervous about whether or not Teresa will like him. In the text it states “He raised his eyes slowly and looked around. No Teresa. He lowered his eyes, pretending to study, then looked slowly to the left. No Teresa. He turned a page in the book and stared at some math problems that scared him because he knew he would have to do them eventually. He looked at the right. Still no sign of her. He stretched out lazily in an attempt to disguise his snooping.”(Soto 1). This displays that Victor is nervous because he tries to see whether…

However, school was extremely difficult to Victor. In fact, school was a different world from his rancho, where his family loved him. He knew no English because his parents spoke only Spanish at home. At school, he faced discrimination from his teachers and other students because he was poor in reading and he was a Mexican, who was said to be dirty and a liar. Although enduring mental and physical abuses and flunking the third grade twice, Victor found other ways of expression by drawing and coloring stars, learning math and shooting marbles, riding horses and helping his parents at the rancho. He acquired understandings from his father and his older brother, Joseph, who taught him how to be a man and to reverse his family and his ancestors.…

After victor's father left him and his mom, Victor had so much anger built up in him. In the movie Thomas came up to Victor and said “Hey Victor what happened to your dad” Victor got so mad that he jumped on top of and started to beat him up. VIctor was getting all the anger out on Thomas. In the story “Alone On The Hilltop” the narrator was on a Spiritual Adventure to become a man. During his adolescence he was alone for 96 hours in the book it says “ I was 96 hours away from becoming a man.” On this spiritual Adventure he had to find out what his job and life would be. The tank tops worn by students at Upper Perkiomen High School should not completely eliminated without spoken reasoning. Listed as the seventh rule in the student handbook, it is stated, “Tank tops, tube tops, halter tops, muscle shirts, and garments with spaghetti straps are not permitted in school” (52). This rule states that students may not wear any top that does not cover their shoulders. My thought process, and many other students, believe this rule is absurd and has no true meaning. Students have never been clarified on why this rule is in place, although we are expected to follow it. Is it because the administrators think possible bra straps are provocative? Is it just plainly because they think shoulders are distracting? Students…

Seventh grade is a struggle for almost every student. It is a completely different atmosphere compared to what students have adapted to in their elementary years. My seventh-grade year started as a struggle, but after hard work and determination, it ended in success. I was a student at Bayou Academy and had been since kindergarten. I was always an honor roll student. It had never been a struggle for me to make good grades. Everything was about to change because of my seventh-grade English teacher, Mrs. Maria Johnson. Because of all of the journal writing in Mrs. Johnson's class, I am a better student today.…
