Servicescape: The Suede Restaurant
The establishment that I chose to servicescape is the Suede restaurant. Suede is an elegant Caribbean restaurant, which is located at 5610 Clarendon Rd, East Flatbush, NY 11203. The owner, Celia Belyn, created the restaurant in a non-gentrified neighborhood because she felt that there is not a lot of restaurant like this and she want to help develop the area. Plus, it would get her a lot of business because it would be convenient for people in the neighborhood. She also stated that she wanted to “elegantly fuses all aspects of traditional taste and modern elegance to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience.” The reason why I chose this restaurant to servicescape is that I have been dying to go here but never got the chance. Also, I heard a …show more content…
The exterior is very chic and you can see the beautiful lighting display from outside from the glass wall and door. At the entrance, is a tiny red carpet with a rope and palm trees. There is also a doorman to greet you. The exterior has an elegant Caribbean restaurant feel to it. It reminds me of the tourist part of Jamaica (such as Montego Bay, Negril, and Ocho Rios) which has a lot of fancy restaurants. There are three sections, the main dining room, a loft area and a garden area. The interior design is exquisite. There are beautiful exposed brick, wood paneling and elegant lighting fixtures throughout the restaurant. In the main dining area, it looks narrow and the seating looks tight. There are two-person seating with wooden tables and leather chairs. At the front, there is two booth area which can seat two to six at a time. The wallpaper looks like it has bamboo leaves, palm tree embedded in it. On the left of the main dining area, there is a huge bamboo like a painting which changes color and gives of glow that lights up the area. On the left, are TVs in the wall. There are ceiling gold chandeliers which gives a golden glow. At the end of the dining room, along the wall is the bar where you can order drinks and wait for your table to be ready. The bar has a wooden base with a granite top, tall metal chairs, and wooden stools. In front of the bar is another seating section where you can sit and eat. Alongside the bar are the stairs to the loft. The loft is a smaller space than the main dining area. It looks more of a small intimate setting. The Suede Garden area is a different setting. It looks like an authentic Caribbean outdoor dining setting. It is filled with mini palm tree and a mood fountain in the middle of the area. There are wooden tables with wooden stools, plastic woven chair and tables and wooden benches along the wall. In the lower level of the establishment, is

First, I noticed how far this place was from where I live. The restaurant was in Snellville. As we arrived the building was made of this type of stone brick. The roof was made of the red tile shingles you would usually find on the roofs of houses in California. To me when I first entered it smelled like freshly mopped floor. A group of hosts greeted us at the door with a big smile and a “Hola Senoritas!”…

A tan carpet covers the floor and runs the length of the room, which has black plastic moldings that connect the floor to the wall. The walls in the office are painted green with a decorative tan border that runs along the bottom edges and doorframes of the walls. In the room, a piece of the wall has been removed to provide an example of the building’s layout that shows a brick interior that is covered by wood and plaster covering. The brick indicates the room’s addition onto the structure. This removed section also provides fire marshals with information on the structure’s interior layout when conducting annual fire code inspections. White wooden frames surround the doors, which are comprised of fascia moldings. One doorway connects to the entrance hall while the other leads into the dining room. Two white wooden framed windows in the office feature fascia molding. The smooth white plaster ceiling runs the length of the room and contains a smoke detector above the doorway leading into the hallway. A fireplace positioned on the eastern wall of the room contains a black stone hearth. A golden metal grate sits in front of the firebox opening. Attached to the hearth is the cheek, which connects to the firebox opening’s black brick interior. The white plaster fireplace and mantel, with matching fascia molding, is symmetrical to the molding featured in the…

Every time I go to this diner the service is the first thing I notice. Normally after walking through the door and finding a seat, a server is with us in just a minute or two. The server is right there for us, if we need anything. We find that the staff is fun to be around and they treat us like we are friends or family, joking, laughing, and having a good fun time. Since they are open throughout the night there can be some issues that arise because of crowds from the bars and clubs. Sometimes it can be a loud place and if there are a lot of people then we may have to wait for service because there is only one server. The crowds from the bars and clubs can get unruly at times and cause problems with other customers but the staff tries to keep it a calm and fun place.…

The next area I enter is the Triclinium which is the main dining room and where guests were entertained. The gorgeous floor is inlaid stone and imitates the one found in the House of Deer in Herculaneum. The ceiling is arched with recessed panels. And illustrated with illusionist scenes with elements inspired by the House of the Fruit Orchard in Pompeii. The walls have Corinthian pilasters that are modeled from the House of Relief of Telephus in Herculaneum. This room leads me out to the Outer Peristyle. This was used to grow plants and fruit trees for the kitchen as well as provide a cool place to sit during the summer months and to bring light and air to the interior of the house.…

As soon as you pull into 3130 Piedmont Rd NE in Atlanta, GA, The deep rich red colors that they use definitely stick out in the bright colored busy neighborhood that it is in, a neighborhood that you might not expect a nice restaurant to be. As you walk through the doors, you are immediately greeted by the host/hostess, and the atmosphere inside is sure to catch your attention. One wall is covered entirely by a mirror, giving the appearance that the dining room is a lot larger than it actually is. There are photographs hanging on the other walls of celebrities like Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, and Danny Kaye, and other famous people like President George Bush, and President Ronald Reagan all of which have dined there. Although there is a tie requirement, the other décor is not so much as to make someone feel uncomfortable. It is rather ranch style, with Bull horn, and Mason jar chandeliers, and rustic wood furniture.…

As you walk in the door if you look over to your right you look right directly into the bar which has televisions plastered all over the walls. Often there is the sound of loud regulars watching sports and talking amongst each other. Lamps decorated with rounded squares in dark reds, blacks, and greens help differentiate this section little more from the dinning room of the restaurant. If you come in at the right time you may find a "company party" going on which is a group of employees just in the door preparing for work. Just nearby you may also catch a glimpse of a large group of guests in for a special occasion; often guests sit at the largest default table near the bar.
