Serial Killers: A Narrative Fiction
Tom had been on the go since six O'clock that morning, had confirmed that a brutal rape and murder of a woman was the work of a serial-killer, had interview the victims friends and acquaintances, and spent hours going over phone and computer records, without coming up with one damn piece of evidence, or anything he believed had led him closer to finding a direction in which to turn. The only break, and the only food, he'd gotten all day was the quick lunch with Lila, that had been mostly business, and the Detective was tired, frustrated, and impatient.

The words that slipped out of his mouth, and the accusatory tone that accompanied them was unintended when Lila jumped into his arms, and he eyed the drawer that contained the gun, and he was about to apologise for them, when Lila reacted with anger of her own. To Tom, that was like a red rag to a bull, and the aplogy stopped in his mouth as he dropped his arms, and stepped back from Lila. "Where the fuck have I been. What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

Oh, Tom knew the answer to that question, the argument prior to their marriage where, for the only and only time he'd come close to striking out at her, but instead had managed to contain his anger enough to slam his first into the bedroom mirror instead of his beloved. Her reaction to what had happened had scared him, and the thought that he may have lost her, and he'd been depressed for days afterwards, until they'd made up, and he'd promised it would never, ever happen

Another article I would like to discuss is from People magazine written by Jeff Truesdell, Neighbors of Making a Murderer's Steven Avery Speak Out About His Guilt or Innocence: 'Those of Us Who Live Here Know He's Guilty.’ In this article, Jeff Truesdell interviewed locals of Manitowoc County; Steven Avery’s neighbors. The neighbors paint an incredibly different picture than what is provided in Making a Murderer. The neighbors discuss how much safer they felt now that Steven Avery was back in jail, and how when he was released the first time they believed something strange happened. The general consensus of his neighbors was that he was guilty for the assault he was in jail for originally, and for the crimes he is in jail for now. One neighbor…

"So, what are you into?" A simple question, right? Wrong. You'd think in the 21st century people would be more open minded to other's interests, but when you have an interest in serial killers like I do it's hard to get a conversation past that simple question.…

Once the investigators had finished eating up the lamb leg they continued to search her house for any other clues. They searched every single room of the house. Three hours later they started gathering their materials. “Well Mrs. Maloney it doesn’t looked like we have came to a conclusion on exactly what happened to your husband.” One of the police officers told her. “Oh, but you will still continue to search for answers right?” Mrs. Maloney questioned him. “It doesn’t look like we have come to much luck in this investigation. Goodnight now.” The police officer replied. The investigators and the police officer were now heading out of the house and getting into their cars and going away. Mrs. Maloney walked closed the front door and walked back into the living room. “Gosh, I don’t know what I would have done if I was caught.” Mrs. Maloney thought to…

A serial killer is someone who commits a series of murders, usually in a pattern, with no apparent motive. Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as “The Man Who Could Not Kill Enough” and one of America’s most infamous serial killers, is responsible for the murdering, dismembering, and eating of seventeen boys between the years of 1978 and 1991 (Wright and Hensley 78). A solid 100 percent of the adult and children that know Jeffrey Dahmer, identify him as a serial killer (Tithecott xi). Dahmer portrays thoughts of death and murder because of the actions he took during his thirteen year killing spree motivated by his social deficits and many mental illnesses.…

Oh, my God! That worries me so. Suppose I think I’m in love with a man and I marry him and it turns out I’m not in love with him. What does being in love mean? I wish I didn’t think so much. I wish to heaven I didn’t. Everything bad that happens to a girl I begin to worry it will happen to me. All night I’ve been worrying. Part of the time I’ve been worrying that I’d end an old maid like Aunt Sarah, and part of the time I worry that I’ll fall in love with someone like Syd and defy Papa and run off with him and then realize I made a mistake and part of the time I worry… that what happened to Sibyl Thomas will happen to me and.. .(A pause) Could what happened to Sibyl Thomas ever happen to you? I don’t mean the dying part. I know we all have to die. I mean the other part - having a baby before she was married. How do you think it happened to her? Do you think he loved her? Do you think it was the only time she did? You know… (A pause.) Old, common, Anna Landry said in the girls’ room at school, she did it whenever she wanted to, with whomever she wanted to and nothing ever happened to her. And if it did she would get rid of it. How do women do that? I don’t trust Anna Landry and I don’t know who else to ask. Can you imagine the expression on Mama’s face, or Aunt Lucy’s or Mrs. Cookenboo’s if I asked them something like that? (A pause.) Anyway, even if I knew I would be afraid to do something like that before I got married for fear God would strike me dead. (A pause.) Aunt Sarah said that Sibyl’s baby dying was God’s punishment of her sin. Aunt Lucy said if…

It was January 1974, and the people of Wichita, Kansas were staying up all night, with their guns in their hands, ready for the unthinkable to happen. Four members of the Ortero family had just been brutally murdered in their own home, in the middle of the day. Julie and Joseph, the mother and father, had been found tied at the hands and wrists, strangled, in their bedroom. Beside them lay their nine year old son Joey, who had been murdered the same way. Even after the police discovered their bodies they were still not prepared for what they found in the basement. The Orteros' daughter, Josie, had been stripped and hung from a sewer pipe. This was just the very beginning of the serial killer career of…

When thinking of someone to write about I preferred to research a rapist or killer of women. (You could say, “When thinking of someone to write about I prefer to research a murderer that preyed upon women.”) (Also could think about revising this statement to make it smoother) I felt I could relate to these innocent victims because I am a woman myself. The mind of a serial rapist and a murderer is something one that is sane may not be able to comprehend. A serial rapist and murderer that intrigues me is Gary Heidnik. His brutality and the way he showed no apparent remorse is beyond me. It takes someone to really look within the mind of a deranged killer to ever understand them, though I never fully will. It is important to look at all aspects of Heidnik’s life to gain knowledge of his pasts (past) and what made him notorious. For a preview of this notorious serial rapist and murderer this next sentence (the following) explains it all. “ In essence, Gary Heidnik ran a mini-slave colony of African American women in his basement, keep (keeping) them chained, abusing and beating them, and feeding them a blend of dog food and human flesh,” (Philbin & Philbin).…

One of the most famous questions of all time asks, “Why do serial killers, kill?” Everyone is different in their own way, so no one can really answer that question specifically. Dr. Helen Morrison, author of “My Life Among The Serial Killers” interviewed ten famous serial killers to try to answer this question. She found that almost all of them had similar characteristics besides killing. Unlike what most people believe, she surprisingly found that these characteristics did not include insanity, child abuse, or drug abuse. Instead she explains that their most common trait is that they have an emotional age of an infant. Other characteristics include fluent lying, the lacking ability to comprehend that they did anything wrong, and no memory of the murders however when they do remember they show no mercy.…
