Tuesday, September 11, 2001 was the most horrendous day of many people lives, not just people living in New York. Many people were affected by the terrorists’ attacks that occurred on that warm morning. The two planes hit building’s one and two in the World Trade Center; there are a total of seven buildings. Several people and the newer generations do not understand how bad it affected our country, and how it really made people feel. How did you feel on that day, and what do you remember? In order to learn more about this miserable day in history; I interviewed two amazing people on their perspectives. The first person I interviewed was my cousin, Kimberly Elliot. The second person I interviewed was my former math teacher, Mr. Dale White. Both of them were residences of New York at that time; about fifteen years ago. My cousin Kimberly worked in the fifth building in the World Trade Center in New York City, but she
Kim said there were lines and lines of people for pay phones. So, if their loved one did not answer, then there was no way for them to call back. She had to walk Manhattan Bridge just to get away from everything because no vehicles were to be moved on the highway, or anywhere in that area. She said, “No one could leave Manhattan by car, but only by foot”. But, once they got to the end of the Manhattan line there were ten to fifteen buses lined up. Kim said, “When she asked where the bus was going, the driver said away”. For a long time, it was the “Fear of Unknown” for her. That day changed a lot of people, families, and New Yorkers lives. Kim said, “Everyone helped everyone, strangers helped strangers, no matter the race or color they cared about each other, and New Yorkers human spirit came out”. New Yorkers became more human that day, and it was not just about themselves. She said, “Everybody’s goal was to get away and get
