Senior Year Research Paper
We all look forward to our senior year, but some people don't think about the trials you may face during it.You may look at me and think my senior year was “easy breezy.” My senior year was the most humbling year of my life. I faced something that I never thought would happen to me or even existed. There are just things you have to go through to reach the place you need to be. Some things happen for a reason and I will defiantly embrace the things that happened to me. The beginning of my senior went good. I was then captain of my cheer squad, made great grades, the cheer squad got a bid to nationals and I was a aide for the principal. My ministry “Savinme4Him” was off to a great start and going places every weekend. Between all my duties …show more content…
My mother thought I had a stroke. We went to the doctor and found out it was Bell’s Palsy (which is when one side of your face is paralyzed.) I was devastated. In two weeks I was going to compete in our school pageant. I competed anyway without the judges knowing why I couldn’t smile and my speech was slurred. There were nine seniors in the pageant competing for the title and the rest were underclassmen. The underclassmen votes are what crowned me as Miss Congeniality. Earning the title as Miss Congeniality meant that a lot of young ladies look up to me, and I could encourage them to save themselves for …show more content…
The lyrics are let your power fall, when your name is called. Prove the doubters wrong; you’re still mighty and strong. Fight this battle for me. Help my unbelief. So I can tell all my friends, you have won again. So instead of being sad about how I looked, I prepared myself by I dancing to this song the night before my cap and gown pictures, the athletics award ceremony, and my senior prom because I needed strength. My senior prom was the same, but I was able to smirk. When my escort and I walked the runway at our senior walk, the crowd gave the loudest and biggest cheer that I have ever heard during a senior walk. I can remember feeling pretty with my smirk. The smirk was a sign that it’s almost

One of the biggest fears of college students is gaining an excessive amount of weight. As most UMass students know, the school’s dining commons are currently ranked second in the United States by the Princeton Review. When I began attending school, the term “Freshman 15” was a common term that was often spoken about amongst my friends. The term “Freshman 15” refers to the amount of weight which is expected to be gained in the first year of college because of the easy access of food. I always looked at the “Freshman 15” as a myth before college. I wanted to learn more about UMass Amherst’s food. I wondered if it could be possible that UMass could be ranked as having one of the best dinning commons in the country and also have healthy…

Last fall our school board decided to make it mandatory for students to attend school year-round. There were many issues to look at before making this decision. I feel that year round school can both benefit and hurt children. There are many issues that people are for and against for year round schooling. What will happen to kids who have summer jobs or even part time jobs? Employers look for kids who are willing to work during the summer months when there are more activities going on in our community. During the school year students can only work part time and during the summer they are able to work more hours. When school is out during the winter months, things are slower, so business is slow. When this happens, it decreases will decrease…

As seasons change, and the school year progresses, many students lose that “first day of school excitement” (I know that I do!) (parenthesis) that they once felt. So how do we regain that joy that once filled us? The answer is simple, year round school. Having school year round will enable students to expand their knowledge, decrease the time during which kids are idle when they tend to get into the most trouble, and reduce the stress levels of both teachers and students.…

School year round. Almost every kid in America dreads those three words. As soon as someone says that, a kid automatically thinks, no breaks, no summer, no fun. I would too if I didn’t know anything about it. But since I do I don't really mind the idea. Sure, it would take away the meaning of summer and everything you are used too but…. Change is good, sometimes.…

    * Destiny, Life and Legacy these three words have so much power behind them than one could imagine. These three words have been made up the web of my life. Destiny is something that is to happen or has happened to particular person or thing, it’s the predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible course of events. It’s the power or agency that determines the course of events. We all have a destiny it’s our purpose in life. Not everyone discovers their destiny but those that do are the few lucky ones. I have had many dreams about my future and where I would go in life. In all my dreams I do in fact attend graduate school. This is so because I would like to attain a job that requires more than just a four year degree, so that I may receive a high paying salary. The benefits from an advanced degree are numerous. I would like to obtain an advanced degree because unlike undergraduate school, graduate school is more of a narrower field of study. The schooling may be more difficult and more work but I do think it will pay off in the end.…

Junior year was a year to remember, I learned many valuable lessons that I could apply to my senior year. Mrs.Wright was my english teacher and was one of my hardest classes that year. I appreciate her for making her class a challenge from essays to research papers, I learned from them and became a better writer because of her. My life during the time was overwhelming due to family problems, many of my other teachers and peers supported me and I highly thank them. One of my favorite activities was the pep rallys, Mrs.Wright told us “If you win, I will give you five points on your test,” This made our junior class pumped and ready to take the spirit stick! I loved the feeling of having pride in my school and also the ideal of winning just to…

My senior year started off just like in movies I was the star football player that got everything handed to him. I made good grades; all of my teachers liked me. Basically, life was great. Things slowly started to change and they all hit at the same time. My teachers stopped letting me get away with turning in work late and being late to class. My parents stopped giving me money and told me I would have to get a job. I always thought jobs were pointless you bust your tail to receive minimum wage plus I was in football season so I surely wasn’t getting a job. These things started to get to…

“There’s always gonna be another mountain. I’m always gonna wanna make it move. Always gonna be an uphill battle, sometimes I’m gonna have to lose. Ain’t about how fast I get there, ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side. It’s the climb.” This means a large amount to me because it hits home what I feel about senior year. My senior year is not about the few hours for the graduation ceremony, or the piece of paper that I walk away with. It is about the people I will be sitting inside the gym with, and the memories that we will have of each other. It is about the years, and hardships we have faced together. The jokes we have, the tears we have shed, and the strength we have gained together. Miley said it best, it is not about what happens on May 11, but the months, weeks, and days building up to graduation. I have faced countless problems during my senior year, but I have worked my way through them. I have done it with a smile, because I know that this is the end of my senior…
