The verbal and non-verbal speaking anxiety signs I noticed in myself was that I kept fidgeting, and touching my hair or face. I felt the rate of my speaking was too fast and I was stuttering. I did not move around at all and my feet were crossed the whole time of my speech. During my presentation I need to multi-task by speaking about my topic as I am presenting whatever subject. Do not overthink any speech or presentation or try to impress my audience.

The specific areas I intend to work on from this class is to be confident in myself and better my speaking abilities. Try my best not to overthink the presentation and get my point across as clearly as possible. Be more effective in my communication skills, deliver the message succinctly, body language, eye contact, facial expressions, and be incongruent. I would like to be more enthusiastic during my speeches. I want to learn how to speak at my audience’s level and be more connected. Take in everything I am learning and keep practicing.

After this course is complete I would like to accomplish my communication skills, body language, eye contact, facial expressions, and presentation skills. I need to be clear in my own head about what message I want to communicate. I would also like my sounds to convey understanding to whatever I am about to speak about. I would like to get up in the front of class at any given time and give a perfect impromptu speech or any presentation without a flinch. I understand our bodies entail many different messages, but I want all of my body’s movements to captivate my audience’s attention and I want them to be interested because of how great of communicator I will be. My plan to improve my weak areas is to listen to my instructor and peers feedback and take that in and put it into a positive and learn from it. I would accomplish my goals by

Impromptu speeches, well public speaking in general can bring a wide variety of nervous habits out in individuals including verbal and non-verbal anxiety signs. The following will be the opinion of newly acquainted peers whom analyzed the delivery of the Little Red Riding Hood speech. The audience viewed and commented that both vocal and non-vocal anxiety signs were minimal or simply not accurately address within the feed-back form. The personal opinion of this speaker is that verbal and non-verbal signs of distress could use some work. Techniques such as controlling breathing, and being mindful of what message one is trying to portray to the audience are a start to taming uncomfortable personal sensations. This seems to be a better technique rather than focusing on the nervousness, changing just this one behavior may help reduce the signs of anxiety.…

I took a couple of slow deep breaths before I started. I focus in on my audience. Instead of looking down while doing my speech I look around the room making eye contact with everyone. I remembered that they are individual people, they are my classmates. I worked on the introduction so my speech will get off to a good start. I use video to create interest, draw attention away from me. My voice was not as shaky; therefor my tone of voice was smooth. I used my arm and hands to help tell my story effectively and drive home my main…

My first skill is about how I struggle when communicating in verbal presentations. I’m confident when it comes to verbal communication in conversations or interviews. However when being in front on large audiences I find it hard to be as confident. During college I never needed to prepare my own presentation and present them. It was a new experience for me to get into groups or prepare a presentation by myself in front of my peers. I have experienced around 5 presentations now and I feel I am becoming more confident in myself and don’t get as worried when I know I have to do one. However I still feel like it’s a weakness when it comes to my skills and would like develop myself to become clear and confident when doing presentations. An example of how I no I’m doing better in this skill is that my grades have become higher. I feel I’m weak when doing presentations because I experience feeling nervous and forget to say things when I know what I’m talking about, so it comes across unprofessional and weak.…

Many people engage in community service project because they are either forced as a punishment or sentence. Others engage in community service out of Spirit of unselfishness, or a desire to connect with their communities by helping out. For me, it brings a sense of completeness. During the past few semester my team members and I have engage in different projects, Collecting food, clothes and donating to the homeless. In a way I’ve experience working the different organizations and helping the community. But with this particular project, it meant much more then collecting for the disadvantaged, It was about lending a hand and your heart to a community in need.. During my involvement in this fieldwork project I got the opportunity to offer my unconditional assistance for one day in a non-profit making community based project. The name of the project was Liberty City Construction, which is being undertaken by a Christian ministry organization whose aim is to improve the livelihood of low-income families through building affordable and decent houses at a 0% interest rate. The organization founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda fuller has built and rehabilitated more then 100,000 families in need, becoming the world leader in addressing the issues if poverty housing. They work in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all social, economic, and ethic group to expand communities with people in need by building an renovating houses so that everyone can experience God’s love and can live and grow in to all the God intends. The first thing that caught my attention was my nervous twitches. Like most speakers, I am nervous before I give a speech. I tend to get a bit shaky and make really silly jokes to help ease my own nerves. This was apparent in my bouncing about at the beginning and repeated hand gestures throughout the speech. However, once I start, I become more casual and interestingly enough don’t want to stop. Once I finish a speech my desire to continue talking has left me energetic for discussion and communication.…

I also tried to respond to things on the bulletin board. As far as being a visual or kinesthetic learner I printed all…

There are a lot of books that have been written over what the different spiritual gifts are and how they are supposed to be used. There are quite a few verses in the New Testament that covers the spiritual gifts and how we are to use them. In 1 Corinthians 12:4-8 we are told, “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the sane God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same spirit.” The Bible…
