Self-Evaluation Essay

When writing an essay, there are several effective ways to complete a final paper. The first stage is prewriting planning in which I find myself doing about twenty percent of the time when doing an essay. I see this stage important because that is where I research in depth the reliable information I would be using in my paper. I work best with brainstorming through my outline. Before my paper begins I refer back to the thorough outlines I have designed. In order for my paper to flow in an understandable way my outlined has to be organized. A typical outline consists of a paragraph on researched facts and other paragraphs will state personal thoughts or a conclusion. A rough draft is the overall most important stage for a complete paper. This stage is so important to me that I find it using it all the time. In a rough draft I type everything that comes in mind rapidly. Based on a draft the author gets the main idea on where the paper is going. Rough drafts are supposed to have flaws. Drafting gives the author the opportunity not only to improvise the order of the flow but also to correct grammar, punctuation all this gives the paper more clarity of understanding to the audience. The whole purpose of the draft is to develop perfection. Obtaining feedback from others is necessary since the content of the paper could be misunderstood or something may not make sense. Judging other people paper’s is fine. Having instructors or tutors revise helps greatly point out the author’s mistakes or even better give advice on making the paper stronger.

The Process I use to write a formal paper achieves the goal that I set when beginning to write it. Not always have I earned a passing grade, but most of the times I have. I tend to follow the same steps with each paper that I am assigned. By following the same guidelines every time I know what is next in the process and what has to be done in the correct order. Not all papers have to be written in the same format, but with the writing process that I have set, do help me a lot.
We have learned and discussed in class the stages of composing process. Although I do not complete all of the steps, I do complete the majority of them. I do not complete the steps of revising, editing, and proofreading. To me those steps are related. If I start completing the complete the stages of the composing process, it would make a difference in the paper as well as in my grade. I do not proofread my paper once am done writing it, I usually just check while am writing. But, I know by proofreading I can go back and fix typos, punctuations mark, and that way not get as many point deducted. Although I do some times edit my papers it would be more efficient if I did all the time.
People use many different styles and different steps when writing a paper. Although not everyone starts of the same and do not complete the same process, everybody do end up the same and a have a fully completed paper.

Women are known to be great fans of shoes. At last count, Philippine Politician Imelda Marcos had over 2,500 pairs of shoes. Although Mrs. Marcos’ love for shoes is extreme, it is a very good example of how women love their shoes. Since most women have about one percent of the money Mrs. Marcos’ has, they must deal with enjoying their measly fifteen or twenty pair of shoes. One desire a woman of Imelda’s wealth and most other women share is quality. Some shoes are bought at big name stores like Dillard’s, Macy’s or Shoe Warehouse but some women have found that the Payless Shoe Store shoes have lasted just as the long. Over the years, the pumps, boots and sneakers purchased from Payless Shoes has made women just as happy as the major retail stores.…

I love writing rough drafts because I feel like I can pool all of my thoughts into one place. It’s a lot easier to write when you can see all of your thoughts in one place so that you can pick out all of the things that don’t fit or that don’t make sense. I now realize why teachers always made it an assignment to turn in a rough draft, they all wanted to see if we were able to pull a great paper out of a flood of ideas and facts. First drafts are a necessity to writing papers and it separates great papers from amazing…

My high school my writing process was very alike to the process my classmates would practice. I would get my ideas from my life experience or classmates. A tool that really help me organized my thoughts was the web organizer with all the ideas I would brainstorm. I would let out my thoughts and would try to organize them the best way possible following the outline that I was going to utilize. I would ask my teachers and sisters, who have much more experience to proofread my rough draft. A problem I saw in my writing was my usage of words and my punctuation. As following the writing process it extended the essay a week more but it was well done. Problems that I would approach with, was organizing my writing in a form to make it clear. My strengths were the ideas and the details I would use in my writing.…

Research Paper - A research paper is a combination of various activities other than just writing it. If those are done correctly then there is a good chance that the writing part will be flawless. I believe the reason behind it is because you are spending so much time in doing those other activities, it gives you a clear and concise idea of the topic and most importantly, the confidence to write the paper. The other activities which I keep mentioning about are, choosing a topic, the actual research process on the topic, critical thinking, source evaluation and organization. When it comes to the composition part, it should be free from ambiguity and must have clarity. Coherence is another aspect that must be maintained throughout so there is flow to the process. The reader…

During the time allowed to present my life through music to the class, I was nervous and jittery. Before watching my anthems of my life video, I thought this would be a train wreck and I would sound funny hearing myself talk. Although, this speech seemed like a piece of cake because it was about my life, in reality it wasn’t. My preparations for the speech was moderate, I read over what I wanted to present but didn’t time myself more than twice. I found myself rushing through presenting the hardships of my life.…

I really enjoyed this course, as I knew I would. I love to debate!! I am a very opinionated person and I used to want to be a lawyer when I grew up just because I loved to argue so much (such a pleasure for my parents!). On the course with me were some other girls who had some strong opinions too which was really great because we had some good debates with some strong arguments and points! At the beginning of the course we voted on the topics we wanted for our debates, which meant that we would all be interested in most of the subjects we chose. Being all girls as well you can image some of the “banter” we had! Even though the class started at 9am, it was always easy to come in because of the group that we had in class; I think it makes such a difference when there is good energy in a work area, it makes it a lot more fun to be in. I enjoyed the class time, especially because the format was very relaxed. The lecture would be more of a discussion where we would talk about certain issues and elements relating to the course. It makes the class much more enjoyable and engaging rather than just listening to a teacher go on and on whilst the class sits there texting away on their phones.…
