Self-change project
Self- Project:
To Be Organization or Not
For myself change project I choose to become more organized within myself and the things that surround me such as, friends, family, boyfriend, and school. In the beginning of this process it was tough following the chart I organized to help keep my time management on track. I would continually catch myself procrastinating and achieving the things that I enjoyed rather than needed. For example, socializing amongst my friends, family, and boyfriend, instead of ensuing my school homework. However, I knew it was getting out of hand whenever turning in my assignments or almost being late to work suddenly became a major issue for me. As those moments of anxiety lingered through my body, I just wanted to break down crying because I was so over whelmed and frustrated within my self’s lack of motivation.
Luckily, in the beginning of this change I informed all of my family, friends, and boyfriend that I seriously needed to get myself together and become organized, I asked for their support. Once they recognized I wasn’t completing my task, they immediately began to help guide me into the right direction by reminding me and telling me no whenever I wanted to procrastinate and socialize. This support really helped push me into the right direction and I’m glad it happened. Finally, I began to start getting motivated and constantly checking the calendar to ensure I was doing what I needed to do. After a while I started to get the hang of things. I no longer needed to check the calendar, I automatically knew what was important and what could wait while managing when to socialize at the right time. I was, and still am, very proud of myself for declaring I seek organization and accomplishing it.
I never realized before, how unorganized I was or how I even dealt with my procrastination. In the beginning of this semester I would have never thought to actually follow through with a self-project like this and be successful at it. However, I did. There are multiple things now that I do that I never did before to help me be more successful and organized. For example, I now have a binder that contains different sections of each class, separated by homework and notes. It makes it very easy for me to know exactly where everything is at. Also, I write in a planner every day to help my memory so I don’t forget any important deadlines or meetings with my friends. It keeps track of my everyday life style inside and outside of school by the hour. Another is a calendar to help me be more organized with not only the present but with the future events coming up. It provided a great insight on what I can and can’t do on certain days if I was going to be busy.
All of these items developed into a vital resource for my daily success of being organized. Although, it was very tough in the beginning I’m glad I fought through the agony and the stress but most of all I’m glad I took this education class because if it wasn’t for this class, I probably would have never even tried. However, I’m more grateful for the people who I surrounded myself with because they impacted this progress by pushing and believing in me to succeed further in life.

I’m happy with who I am today, just as everyone should be. But if I could change anything about myself, I’d want to have more motivation to do things. In the mornings before school I can barely get out of bed because I’m so tired and don’t want to go to school. I’m exceedingly intelligent but I don’t have any drive. I procrastinate on most of my work, and sometimes I just don’t want to do the work. Right now I’m rank 14 in my class but I could’ve been higher if I had any drive my freshman year. I don’t think about how my decisions now will impact me later and when I do, I don’t really care. I also don’t have much motivation to do things in sports activities. Last year I played volleyball and I never had that much playing time. Never being able…

Ever since I was a child, I was messy with my school work and maybe even with non-school related things too. I was very unorganized and with that came grades that were not acceptable to my parents and, looking more into the future, college. My mother would beg me to start becoming more organized and neat but I would not listen to her. When I started middle school, she heard about a program called AVID that supposedly helped students become more organized, helps you take notes, and helped them look into college and the future. As soon as she realized what the program was for she immediately put me in it. I took the program for all my three years in middle school and my experience, it worked. Thanks to my mother and, of course, the program she…
