Self Awareness
Self Awareness

Each and every person is different in their own way. One thing we can agree on is in order to sit down and set goals for ourselves we need to have a better understanding of who we are. Self awareness empowers us to recognize our strengths and weaknesses and build from them. What in our lives needs improvement, what aspects can we use to take us to where we need to be in life, and how do we react or learn from our mistakes and accomplishments. Understanding who you are and how you can adapt to new environments, that is self-awareness. I am a person who loves interacting with others, I love to learn from those around me. This is why I chose to surround myself around those who have goals for themselves, as well as act on their dreams. I understand who I am as a person and where I would like to be. I act on what I believe is right but at the same time I love being criticized and learning as I go along. I like to see myself as energetic, charismatic, multi-tasker, and a team player. Wherever I end up in my career I would like to always carry these traits with me. As of right now the path I’m going down is towards becoming a Physician Assistant. I am still indecisive if I would rather be a RN but I do know wherever I do end up it shall be in the medical field. I want to be able to help the sick whether its helping them get over a cold or helping cancer patients with chemotherapy. I understand that in this field one must have a strong open-mind to life and death. I believe I am ready for what is to come and my positive outlook on life can help me in the long run. Im 19 and I feel as if im pretty aware of where I want to be in my life. I dont see that much often especially around where I live. Most females my age in my neighborhood are high-school dropouts and teenage mothers. Im pretty sure of my plan and how I would like my life to turn out. I know for sure I want to graduate first then worry about family years down the line. Things do

I also have always had a natural interest in the medical field because I like to watch a lot of ER and hospital shows. At first I didn’t really know what health career I wanted to pursue. I just knew that I liked being in the healthcare class and learning about the different health science careers and what they do. I chose to monitor myself in church and when I was attending a party with some friends last Saturday. I found that my self-presentation in those situations was altered almost completely. Also I found myself using impression management during each activity in order to choose peoples perception of me. Goffman’s idea of dramaturgy is how our society continues its function. While at the party I found myself engaged in the role of the “carefree party girl,” but the next morning my role was the complete opposite as I was engulfed in the role of the “perfect Christian.”…
