A. This means foods have been inserted with foreign genes into their DNA using biological engineering.
1. The reason for this is to enhance the product and improve industry efficiency.
2. In other words they want it faster, fatter, bigger, cheaper.
B. One example would be 1. Chickens being genetically engineered 2. From 1950 to 2008 chickens have tripled in size. At 5 and half weeks a normal chicken would be 940grams however the one injected is 2,900 grams.
C. So what is the problem with eating a supersized chicken? 1. This is like a very real modern day “Frankenstein Monster” 2. However unlike the monster Mary Shelly constructed. It isn’t visibly grotesque or scary but something unseen ingested by billions of unaware consumers everyday.

Making labeling mandatory on GMO products would help to inform the consumer of what they are purchasing which after all is a right to know what is in the food they are consuming. On the other hand, some consumers believe that by enforcing labeling, they are indicating that by purchasing GMO foods, the consumer is then purchasing a product with less than par ingredients. Opposing viewpoints argue over the labeling of the products. Even individuals who are not against the use of GMO produce believe that by not labeling products it appears that the product has something to hide. Weise goes on further to state that it is required to note the difference between from concentrate or previously frozen products as this can affect the perception of the consumer (Weise 2013).…
