Search And Injustice

Frankie, I too have been guilty of going through my students desks just to clean them out with no intent to do searches. I also have had incidents in my classroom where something was taken from of another students desk. I had the class looking in and around their desk in hopes of maybe someone accidentally misplacing it. I haven't given it a second thought of violating any rights, only doing what I thought was the right thing. I will have to see what our policy says in regards to search and seizure. It is important to me that the students feel safe as well as teaching them that people make mistakes and we learn from them. If the item was recovered it would be a learning experience of doing what is right.

I too remember being in high school
