A. HISTORY

PT Surya Citra Media Tbk was formed on 29 January 1999 to operate as a holding company for multimedia services as well as consultancy services in the media and related business. The main purpose behind its creation, however, was to broaden the horizons of PT Surya Citra Televisi (SCTV), one of the largest TV broadcasting stations in Indonesia, today.

As a media broadcasting company, SCTV is restricted by law to operate solely and exclusively as a broadcasting company for which it was licenced for. Yet, the business prospects of an integrated multimedia services group are simply too promising to be ignored. Hence, the establishment of SCM signified the emergence of a highly prospective multimedia group with longterm growth opportunities. SCM subsequently acquired 100% share of SCTV over a period of time between November 2001 and April 2002, and went public in July 2002.

TiVo was now headed down the right path, once again being first movers by differentiating their product and services around new “macro trends” into a viewing and advertising solution for a la carte on demand television, as opposed to just a high quality DVR. Although TiVo has the right idea, their key challenge is how to remain successful and leaders of their industry while balancing and pursuing new opportunities in these multiple businesses (Cable/satellite, software development, intellectual property licensing, advertising solutions, audience research, and international business) all while still trying to become more profitable.…

In conclusion to my research, I do not support the prescription and use of mood-altering drugs. Although mood-altering drugs have the ability to make someone feel better or "happy", they come with many side effects that outweigh the good. Prescription drugs have many side effects that could make the person more depressed than they were before. According to Alternative Health with Dr. Lind by Peter Lind, "People who use Prozac and other SSRI drugs are five times as likely to commit suicide as if they took no medication at all." I agree with the article "Forced Smiles" that someone should exercise and eat right to be happy.…

The competitions before went well, we usually placed high and got best percussions, but we had still never reached the highly mark of getting a 1.…
