Scientific Research Based Intervention
I conducted an action research project to determine how Scientific Research Based Interventions (SRBI) help improve the reading skills of my English Language Learners first grade students. I used the Diagnostic Reading Assessment (DRA) to gather pre and post data. This allowed me to have a beginning reading level and to determine the level of improvement achieved by the students at the end of the study. I used benchmarks assessments to guide instruction and determine mastery of reading skills. The results of this study demonstrated that after providing intensive interventions in key reading skills, students make progress on their reading level. The intervertions were more effective when using daily for about 30 minutes and focused on the needs

    When we think of childhood, most of us have an image embedded in our minds of a place blessed with ceaseless joy and happiness. It’s a time in our life during which an individual is free of responsibilities but subsequently begins to learn right from wrong. Bless Me, Ultima by Ruldolfo Anaya, however, offers a differing viewpoint on childhood and adolescence; one denoted by an inauguration into adulthood and maturity.
