If we couldn't be afraid we wouldn't survive for long. We would be walking into oncoming traffic, stepping off of rooftops and carelessly handling poisonous snakes. We would be hanging out with people who have tuberculosis. In humans and in all animals, the purpose of fear is to promote survival. In the course of human evolution, the people who feared the right things survived to pass on their genes. In passing on their genes the trait of fear and the response to it were selected as beneficial to the race. Fear acts as a guide for us to know and stay away from dangerousness situations thus saving your life and increasing your chance of survival. One of the major themes in the novel Divergent by Veronica Roth we saw Tobias overcome his fear of heights in the game. He did this after he saw Tris climb the ferris wheel, they did this because they were still in the games and needed to see the other teams flags. 2.
People view genetically engineered food as unnatural because it is it is man made. Some people refuse to buy genetically engineered food because it can pose many health risks. One hazard of consuming this food is that it causes allergies it also creates new allergens. A second hazard is pesticide exposure farmers uses lots of pesticides on genetically engineered foods so they can grow big thus exposing you to pesticides. Also it can expose you to the risk of heart disease. This day and age we consume a lot of genically engineered food every time you pull in to fast food places for a quick bite you most likely consume some type of genetically engineered food. The ball does not stop foods like soybeans, corn, granola, cotton seed oil and meats and poultry.
