Does Gum Lose Mass When You Chew It?

I believe the gum will gain mass this is because the gum will absorb the saliva in you mouth and make it bigger.

MATERIALS: Gum(orbit gum) Analiysis page Mouth Scale Clock or timer Pencil Wax paper Yourself Saliva

PROCEDURES: Buy or steal three pieces of gum from store. Weigh one piece of gum on a digital or regular scale Put one piece of gum in open mouth Chew concecutivly for one minute Spit gum out on wax paper Weigh the gum on the wax paper on the scale Write down in grams your result Repeat steps 3-7 three more times (with same gum) Record your data on your analasis page rating the texture and taste through out your chewing. Repeat everything above 1-9 with a diferent piece of gum. Repeat steps 1-9 again one last time with different stick of gum . DONE!!!
