Science Fair Project: Investigating Jupiter
The purpose of my science fair project was to investigate more about Jupiter. I researched what Jupiter contains inside and when Jupiter was discovered. I choose this project because I went to Washington D.C and went to the Air and Space museum. I learned more about space exploration not specifically on Jupiter. Since I learned more about Jupiter and that Galileo Galilei used a rudimentary telescope to discover Jupiter. That’s when I got interested.
Materials were collected to make Jupiter and their moons. Sized blocks and sized spheres were either spray painted primer gray or matte black. When those dried the spheres with the primer got painted either as Jupiter or the color of the Galilean moons. Then cut the sticks and stuck them in the

When Galileo first turned his telescope to the moon, he had no idea that he was about to see something that would cast doubt upon centuries-old beliefs. At the time of Galileo, science was based upon the teachings of Aristotle. According to Aristotle, the Earth was the center of the universe. All heavenly bodies, including the moon, were perfect spheres that moved around the Earth with circular motions or combinations of circular motions, and the Earth was the only source of imperfection in the universe. According to the moon truther, there are two reasons why he describes the moon as a hologram. The first piece of evidence of why he thinks the moon…

My project is about how much salt it will take for objects to float. In my project I will explain why certain objects float while others sink. I took three different objects with different amount of density and put them each in ten cups of water. I then put in teaspoons of water and recorded whether or not the objects floated until all the objects were floating. I was able to see how an objects density affects how much salt is needed to make it float.…

Uranus and Neptune are distinctly bluer than Jupiter and Saturn. One reason Uranus and Neptune are bluer is because of methane in their atmospheres that absorbs red light and reflects blue. Uranus is made of water, methane, ammonia ices, rocky material, helium, and hydrogen. Neptune is made of water, methane, hydrogen, and helium. Jupiter is made of helium and hydrogen gas. Saturn is made up of hydrogen, helium, small amounts of methane, and ammonia. Uranus and Neptune are known as the "Ice Giants" while Jupiter and Saturn are known as the "Gas Giants". Uranus and Neptune are the ice giants due to how far away they are from the Sun, while the gas planets are closer to the Sun, where it is hot enough to keep the gases in their gas-like state.…

When I started researching science fair project ideas, I came across one that really caught my eye. The driving question, or topic, was “Does the level of vitamin C change over time in Orange Juice.” After I viewed the website, I got very excited because it had simple step-by-step instructions about how to test the level of vitamin C. On the following page are the directions. I think I am really excited to do this project because it sounds very interesting and fun to do. I hope to prove what the driving question/topic entails.…

Or the other one is making other planets do the same. Simulations predict that a protoplanetary disc capable of forming the planets Venus and Earth should also be capable of forming another planet but said to be at least half the mass of Earth in Mars location. Studies show that mars are 10% of the Earth’s mass. This videos say now that “We have a tiny Mars, No Super Earths, A weird mixed up of Asteroid belts, An early obliteration of Earth’s surface, and a missing ninth planet. This is all to be cause of Jupiter. There are no facts if the solar system formation happened this way or not. But this video can say for conform that Jupiter’s influence of the initial solar system is the main reason it got to the current way it is now. There is no conform way to how Jupiter was born. To find the birth orbit of Jupiter is said to be in it’s internal composition. Just cause of this a Juno space craft is going to discover the birth orbit of Jupiter. Overall, this video taught some of Jupiter’s violent past. But I thought it was interesting to watch and the reason I chose this video is because it was the best out of the three I…

The depiction of Jupiter, also known as Zeus, takes on many different forms depending on the author and timeframe in which we are examining him. Throughout the article “Jupiter in Ovid’s Metamorphoses” Charles Segal juxtaposes Ovid’s characteristics of Jupiter amongst that of other prominent poets of comparative eras, Homer and Virgil. Ovid’s Jupiter appears to have immense anger and abrupt displays of power that acquire a high level of violence. With these two attributes overlapping, Ovid portrays a Jupiter that is the king of Gods and humankind in a way that seems to question the morality of his reign at times.…

During my practicum I observed a 5th grade science class that was studying the solar system. The class began with the teacher asking the students what they know about the solar system. Many students raised their hands and responded to the question when called on. After a few minutes of inquiring the teacher proceeded to show the students the solar system using the Solar System Scope on the Smart board. The classroom environment was filled with anticipation of actually getting to see what the solar system looks like. The students enjoyed seeing and feeling the effect of being in space where they could get a closer look at the planets. It was great to see a lot of enthusiastic and eager students. After showing the students how the solar system…

In the beginning no one had an idea on which side we were going to be for the debate on the topic, which I got was Stem Cell Research and after researching both sides and learning the pro and cons about Stem Cell Research. My group was given the pro side, which means that I was not against doing more research on stem cells and against learning how they work. This project showed me that I do not need to know anything about my topic at first. The more I did research on stem cells the more I would understand my topic and the project. This was the first time I had a project where I have learn the material on my own. Also, this was the one of the first real debates I had to do. I feel that this taught me that I have the potential to learn materials on my own. This project made learn skills for success because in college the professors do not babysit you or make sure you do your work. A Science Symposium was held at Hardy Elementary School last October. The event was participated by students from Hardy, Parmley and Turner Elementary Schools in the Willis Independent School District. The participants performed science experiments. Symposium participants focus on real microgravity experiments for the International Space Station. About 100 students of Hardy Elementary listened to Dr. Lisa Brown, a former NASA employee, as she discussed the history of space exploration. She also pointed out that schools should give importance in making science projects. To follow the protocol set by NASA, students use salt solutions, grass seed, ants and fleas in their experiments.…
