Abstract
This report was aimed to investigate the component and feature of a chosen area near a lake in Qinhuangdao No.1 Middle School. The result of the research showed the physical and biological components of the quadrat area and what were the negative impact drawn by human activity on the ecosystem. During the investigation, ruler and camera were used to collect data and pictures. Also, three tables, a food chain, and a food web were drawn to clearly illustrate the findings. In the third part, the classifications of the five species found in the quadrat area were listed in tables, and the abiotic variables, such as air, water, and soil, were analysed with their relationships to the living environment of the organisms. It was particularly noticeable that some rubbish and air pollution manifested the human activity which would stifle the growth of animals and plants. Overall, people should improve their awareness of protecting environment, and the findings could be applied by experts to solve the environmental problems.
1.0 Introduction
Regarding the objectives of the research, it is aimed to investigate the environment of the selected ecosystem (includes physical and chemical features), find out the components of this ecosystem, analyse the possible factors influencing the certain environment, trace the impact of human activity on the environment, and try to figure out the feasible solutions to solve the environment problems. In this survey, the location was chosen in a high school’s campus in Qinhuangdao, where has a lake, several kinds of plants, and a common type of bird.
