Nutrition and Fitness
My current fitness and nutritional habits could and needs to improve on a great level. At this current time my nutritional health is not extremely bad. However, having proper nutritional value is good, but without proper exercise it cannot be affective to the fullest extent. I need to include exercise as a daily activity. Normally I switch back and forth. Meaning I practice good nutrition for a while without the exercise. Then I exercise for a while without the healthy eating. Both actions bring me separate positive results, because I see the change. However, if I was able to practice both at the same time I would experience maximum results. There are different health risks associated with obesity. The way health is affected by obesity depends on numerous things such as: where you carry the excess body fat at, what your age is, how physically active you are, or what your gender is (WebMD, 2005). Those who are engaging in unhealthy habits and or eating unhealthy have a higher risk for high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, sleep apnea, stroke, high bold pressure, gallstones, and type II diabetes just to name some. Excess weight carried around the stomach (called the apple shape) is more prone to produce problems with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, and type II diabetes (WebMD, 2005). One new thing I could do as a new fitness is incorporate walking into my lifestyle. Walking will improve my endurance and make my legs stronger. Another habit I can incorporate is aerobic exercises. This will increase my heart rate and increase my energy level. A third thing I can incorporate is to practice yoga. I believe engaging in all three fitness habits will improve my health on so many levels. Not only will my physical health improve but I feel that my emotional and mental health will improve also.
