School Shootings Argumentative Essay
What has to happen for us to realize we should use the right of our second amendment? Over the past few years we have been faced with many tragic events; these include bombings, attacks, and shootings. I think one of the problems that continue to grow rapidly is school shootings. In 2015 there have been more than 45 school shootings. This has left schools with a tragic event they will always be haunted with. In order to protect the school, teachers should have the right to carry a pistol on campus to make it a safer place for students, faculty, and staff. No matter how prepared you are it can still happen, and being armed could bring down risk of school shootings or protect more people during one.
School shootings can happen at anytime. Although they can help, locked doors and police can not prevent the situation from happening. If teachers were armed, less students and staff would be injured or killed during a school shooting. Having armed teachers on campus would not stop a school shooting, but it would help the situation

If teachers were armed, it would help bring down the risk of school shootings. During a school shooting, seconds matter. When the police are contacted, it could take up to 15 minutes or more before they arrive. In all that time students and teachers are getting killed. Teachers want to carry guns to be able to prevent this. They feel that they should be armed to protect students. Kasey Hansen, on New York Daily News, said, “I think every teacher should carry a gun. W are the first line of defense. Someone is going to call the cops and they are going to be informed, but how long is it going to take for them to get to the school? And in that time how many students are going to be affected by the gunman roaming the halls?” Because of the many school shootings in the past, teachers feel they should be armed to decrease the risk of this happening and to protect students if it

The three main advantages that I will talk about in this essay are: make sure you take down the shooter quickly before he/she takes down more people, the teachers pass the proper training period, and the students feel safe with an armed adult. Without wasting any more of your time let us get started with our first discussion. Let’s get started with our first advantage. There won’t be a big loss if you take down the shooter before he kills anymore lives. A teacher who has a concealed weapon with them saves more lives than police officer over the phone. It takes approximately about 10-15 minutes for the whole police force and swat team to get at the shooting. Within those 10-15 minutes that shooter can do so much destruction you can never have imagined in your dreams.…

Guns have been used for decades for protection. However, is allowing a teacher to carry a gun in school premises truly protecting and properly educating our children? In the United States of America, many school are considering allowing their teachers to carry guns in schools. It is true that the protection on school grounds is unquestionably essential, but teachers should not be allowed to carry guns in schools. Whether or not armed security guards should be in schools has been a debate for years but has really been brought into the limelight since the most recent tragedies of Columbine, Virginia Tech and Sandy Hook. The supporters of having armed security in our school districts believe that it is a needed layer of security and helps to diminish response time if necessary while keeping children, parents and teachers feeling safer to be in school. The ones against having guns in the schools believe that we have had armed guards in schools and it did nothing to stop it. They also believe that the cost is too high while also worrying about their children’s psyche from being around loaded weapons every day. No matter which side you are on, there are great arguments for both sides that are logical as well as emotional and it is everyone’s job to listen to all of the information that is available and make their decision based on what they feel is the best choice. That choice could be one of the most important decisions that they ever make because it could mean the difference between life and death.…

Imagine the feeling of safety as if it is constantly within our control or ability, people that are in possession of a concealed weapon are aware of the responsibility and the results of what can happen when using a concealed weapon. Safety of teachers, all other employees and students at a learning intuition can greatly improve if the staff could be armed with concealed weapons. Also we must remember that all citizens of the United States have the right to carry and own a weapon as guaranteed by the second amendment of the constitution of the United States of America. Safety and security could be greatly improved with teachers and faculty carrying concealed weapons on campus, therefore, the teachers and faculty increase security; the safety of the students can also be achieved.…

Picture a class of twenty elementary students hidden under desks around the classroom, and the teacher is begging the children to stop sobbing. Down the hall the sound of gunshots ring out the sounds of people screaming and begging for help can be heard. The shooter is moving closer and closer to the area and all the innocent soon to be victims are defenseless. There is nothing in that classroom that is going to stop what is about to happen. Now imagine a teacher with a handgun that could at least scare off the shooter, or deter them from advancing into the room. Many people frown upon teachers being able to carry a handgun on school grounds, but if they only knew that the thing they frown upon could possibly be saving their kids life. It makes perfect sense that teachers should be able to carry a handgun if and only if they go through the proper training and tests.…

Teachers should be able to carry firearms at school. “the arming of teachers would have a greatly immediate impact on violent behavior in schools by criminals.” (Ayoob). As Ayoob says, there wouldn’t be as much violence in schools if teachers and staff were trained and had weapons. The teachers that would be armed will need to go through a mandatory training, the same training as police and security guards. “For the concept to work, teachers would have to voluntarily offer to carry and pass strict…

There are three main advantages for allowing teachers to carry a concealed weapon. The three advantages are casualties will be reduced if you could take down the shooter quickly before the shooter kills any more people, teachers can be a tremendous deterrent to crime, and teachers can help stop another school shooting for example, Columbine or Virginia Tech. Let’s start with the first advantage. Casualties will be reduced if you could take down the shooter quickly before the shooter kills any more people. An armed teacher provides more immediate protection for the students than a police officer on the phone. It will take probably 5-10 minutes before the police will even get there. That is too much time for the shooter to do whatever he wants. So, if some teachers were carrying a gun, they could take down the shooter quickly before more damage is done.…

Over the past couple of years, the debate over whether or not handguns should be allowed on school campuses has exploded into a wide variety of opinions. Handguns are allowed in many other places, but should they really be brought into a learning environment? Many people are starting to voice their opinions over this topic due to the large increase of school shootings and suicides within recent years. “Since 1995, more than thirty students and teachers have been killed and approximately one hundred have been wounded as a result of shootings at American schools” (Egendorf). Letting students bring handguns onto campuses provides numerous risks and benefits for the safety of schools across the nation.…

In recent years, there have been many school shootings. Students and faculty deserve the right to carry a firearm to protect themselves. There have been many occasions when the campus police were not able to protect students and faculty. The second amendment gives the right for Americans to bear arms. However, firearms should not be allowed on college campuses because people will feel unsafe, some individuals do not know how to use a gun, and officers will become confused.…

Most school systems hire police or some type of security to watch after students during the day. Security should be enough protection, so a teacher still shouldn’t feel the need to carry a gun. It’s still not fully safe for a security to carry a gun. On January 27, 2011 a policeman was arrested for shooting his gun inside of a school building. Not only did he fire his weapon, he also lied about the situation. If the same situation took place and a teacher had control over the gun it actually could have been worse, because a school policeman just watch over the student who are most likely in the hall, a teacher actually is in class with the students.…

    Why Guns Are Bad

There has been a good amount of times that someone was coming to a school with a gun. For what reason most likely to shoot up the school. Some schools have school resource officers, for all kinds of reasons but this is one. There has been a few reports where the school was saved by one person inside that had a gun. The officer would then draw his gun in some cases they wait for backup, some other cases the school resource officer shoots the intruder wounding him so he can’t hurt others. Which this is a great thing, because I never thought about something like this as having a school resource officer as beneficial. My old school had a school resource officer and I’m glad we did so something horrible did not happen. People view guns bad most of the time because of situations like these, "Carolyn Gudger is a hero for stopping a gunman at Sullivan Central High School in Tennessee, but not reported by media because no children were killed just the gunmen." (Smith, "Police officers Kill Gunman at Sullivan Central.") In situations like these they don’t always post the good things that happen in the media, a lot of the time just the bad things that happen in the world. I feel this is a reason a lot of people view guns in a wrong way because they are surrounded by the negative media about guns. The Second Amendment of the Constitution protects people to keep and bear arms, this was adopted on December 15, 1791. “Modern…

    Guns in School

There should be no guns in class room. Because it may cause more violence in the school and cause more school shootings. Kids may find the gun and use it against others. Also some younger kids may feel threatened with a gun in the class room. However assuming that any teacher and kid would not go on a killing spree yes it could be a good idea, but considering most school shooting are caused by children/teens it is not a logic idea. We do not need more guns in schools I personally think that we need less guns in schools these days. There is no valid reason for there to be guns in schools unless it is owned by a police officer. Guns in schools lead to negative things and it should not happen. Say you have a fresh-faced, doe-eyed new teacher, 22 years old and starting their first day as a teacher. Now you've handed them a firearm and tell them that they have to have this gun with them at all times. Now the teacher might have a background with guns and be OK with that, but maybe they don't. Perhaps they're one of these 'pansy liberals' that get so much flack in the circles that think they should be armed. Well this teacher now has to make a decision, should they carry a gun on themselves and be forced to keep the student at arms length, thus hampering the learning environment, or should they simply let a multitude of kids get right up against the weapon? Well obviously we shouldn't be giving kids the opportunity to get at the weapon, and we don't want to hamper the learning experience, so let's give the teacher a gun safe to put it in. Now a few months pass and this safe is opened once or twice to check on the gun, because after all gun violence is still very minimal in the US despite what people on FB might shout. However this safe has to be readily available so that the teacher can get to it in times of emergency, but that means it's also readily available to curious and mischievous kids too. A kid will find a way to get into any locked compartment if they are…
