School Life
It’s a normal day 6:30 in the morning just as any other. Then BOOM my alarm clock goes off to wake my brother and I up to get ready for school, but this was all put to the side by our mother coming in to the room telling us that she would have to work a few extra hours. "Wake your but up!" Is what I yelled to my brother as I had always did he consistently showed himself to be the lazy one who would just breeze through life without a care in the world. He replied back with the bad morning breath, “Leave, me, alone its only 6:30 school doesn’t start until 7:30.” Me as usual I got up pulled him out of bed until he hit the floor then started my routine to get ready for the day’s events. Oh yeah my name is Gerard by the way. I carried myself across the dimly lit hall towards the bathroom. As I flicked on the light switch, I first noticed this hair pick still stuck in the side of my head. I immediately grabbed it and started to fix my hair. As I stand in front of the mirror looking back at my own reflection, wondering why, does school start this early in the morning, I grabbed the toothbrush and toothpaste and began to a make it happen. My brother’s name is Joel, and he could care less of his appearance, because he always thought that he was God’s gift to the ladies. Most of his attire consisted of whatever he felt like grabbing out of the closet or the first thing he could get his hands on. He didn’t care if he was all wrinkled, his excuse was that they’ll be gone throughout the day plus now one would notice them anyway because that’s how he rolled. You would have thought that he just came from summer camp playing rugby with a few of his friends before school started. As he came into the bathroom besides me to wash up and get ready, I could always here him saying thanks for getting me up too, knowing that being the older sibling I couldn’t just let him be late for school besides our mother would have killed me. As I look at the clock I notice that

It started out like any other day. I got out of bed and scrambled to get out the door after I took an extra hour in the shower. I hopped into a seat next to my best friend Erin. We talked for the ten minute ride before finally arriving at school. I sat down in homeroom waiting for the bell to ring. Brrriinnngggg! I rushed to Mrs. Gregory’s room for Lit. Everything was fine until gym class. I had forgotten my assignment notebook in Mrs. Saphir’s room so I ran back upstairs to get it from under my chair. As I started to walk back towards the locker room I heard the bell ring… late! I walked into the locker room hoping Mrs. Dennis wouldn’t notice my tardiness, but my locker is right next to her office. I quickly filled out a minor for before…

Hackers typically follow a five-step approach to seek out and destroy targeted hosts. The first step in performing an attack is to plan the attack by identifying the target and learning as much as possible about it. Hackers usually perform an initial reconnaissance and probing scan to identify IP hosts, open ports, and services enabled on servers and workstations. In this lab, you planned an attack on 172.30.0.0/24 where the VM server farm resides, and used the Zenmap GUI to perform an “Intense Scan” on the targeted IP subnetwork.…

Reading the article, Thriving at School, was incredibly inspirational as a future teacher. I have heard amazing faith stories of teachers who would stay after school and pray for every student by walking past their locker. There have been teachers who pray for every student on their rosters. What a great way to reflect on the day that you have had or prepare for the day to come. Terri Trepanier states that, “Praying is the only thing I know to do to maintain my sanity and prepare myself to stand firm for this demanding calling.”…

I slammed the off button on the alarm as hard as a could. 6:00 A.M. You can tell it's early when there's no sunlight seeping through the cracks of the blinds. I walked across the dark room, stabbing my foot in every corner. My hands waving in the air, trying to feel where the bathroom light switch is. Finally, my hands are enveloped onto to the switch and I flipped it on. Squinting my eyes while trying to adjust to the bright light. I go to the faucet where I splashed cold water on my, face, letting the droplets run through my cheeks and trickle down my chin.…

I woke up around seven thirty or eight o’clock on Sunday morning. My mom, younger brother, and I stayed at my mom’s boyfriend’s house the night before. The original plan was to get up around five in the morning to get to the ski resort earlier, but we ended up sleeping in a little bit longer than expected. My mom woke me up by tickling my nose with a feather. With aggravation, I hurried up and opened my eyes and yelled at her. When I woke up, my mom started laughing at me. My younger brother, Mason, took forever to get himself ready. Everyone was up and ready within the next hour.…

I had watched everyone come in the door. I was waiting for one specific face, but that face never came into the door. I started to get worried so I asked Mrs. McCarthy. “Mrs. McCarthy, Have you seen Alyssa today?” She gave me this blank stare. “No I have not.” I nodded and headed back to my seat. A few minutes later the door opened and Alyssa came running in. “Alyssa, why are you late?” Mrs. McCarthy asked as Alyssa sat down in the seat beside mine. “I’m sorry ma’am, I woke up late.” Alyssa mumbled. She looked worn out. I was going to ask what happened but decided that it wasn’t the best thing to do. I’ll just ask her after school.…

On that fateful morning, I woke up with a start to a loud crashing sound. I thought that it was the sound of thunder, so I turned to the window. It was then I realized that my younger sister, Hanna, who had a clumsy nature, accidentally slammed the toilet door after hearing her curse loudly. Then, I looked at the clock and saw that it was only 5 in the morning. Thanks to her, I did not get my beauty sleep and ended tossing and turning in my bed. After some grumbling, I went to the bathroom to get ready for school. I was feeling rather grumpy since I slept late that night finishing my biology assignment.…

I woke up by the blue jays singing by the tree beside my bedroom window. I got dressed in my blue jeans and my Adidas sweater. As I went downstairs my mom had a big breakfast set out on the round table. I sat down and as I started gobbling down the pancakes my brother joined us. We cleaned off the table and I took my backpack and put on my jacket to go out for school. My brother ‘Matt’ following right behind me. I and he decided to take the shortcut we found during summer break when we went biking, instead of the actual way through the streets. It had already started to snow in September and the shortcut through the pond was slippery, but we scrambled through it. As we made our way near the school, we saw some of the kids we saw when we went biking hanging out by the timeworn school sign. I guess my brother didn’t really want to enter school with me because he scurried off to a friend he met at a band competition during the break. I didn’t really find any friends during the break, except this kid named Jack who was my neighbour, but the problem with him was that he was one of the fattest kid I have seen, and all he would want to do was stay home and watch this TV show about a loser who always got beaten up. I stayed away from him all summer but I guess I shouldn’t have, because now I have to enter the school all by my self not knowing where to go or not knowing anything about the school.…

Then I noticed something peculiar. I was the only student around. "Am I late after all?" I quickened my steps, suddenly I heard a shout "What are you doing here?" I turned back and saw my principal standing in front of me. "Why are you late for school?" When I looked at my watch it showed 7.30 a.m. "I am not, Sir," It is just 7.30 now. I realized then my watch was running ten minutes late. "Your watch doesn't show the correct time, boy; you better hurry to your class now," I blushed at the thought of my blunders and cursed my luck. My teacher reprimanded me for being late for lesson.…
