School Day Research Paper
From the first day of the school year, I was anxious, nervous, and happy. When I received my schedule, I realized that I was in two special ed classes, one was English and the other was Math. When I started my day off, I realized that not only was I in special ed again, but I was also in speech again. This made me feel bad but I just ignored it. When math class started, all I did was IXL and more IXL. It was like that every single day.

During November to January we had more homework in Spanish and Science but not really any Social Studies homework. When December came, it was a lifetime experience. I couldn't wait for Christmas! Even though I had to do IXL during winter break, I didn't mind. I was just too excited. When X-mas break ended, it was January. We were assigned to write about what happened during our winter break. I didn't do anything outside since it didn't snow. In February-April I was excited for Valentine's Day and my birthday. In mid February, I remember when I was in math class and we had a fire drill and I got scared to death. I almost had a heart attack since I was focused on something else. When April finally arrived, I myself was excited for spring break to finally come, but on the other hand during spring break I still had to do IXL. That actually partly ruined my break

During field day, we played a lot of games with water and involved exercising. At lunch during field day the amazing scent of burgers and hotdogs filled the air. As field day started to come to an end I was sad because the day was over and I realized I won't have another field day with my friends. After field day at around June 10 I started to get happier and happier when the days of 8th grade were coming to an end. I am always forgetting that all my friends that I have will be gone because they are not going to Vo-Tech and that I will never see them ever

Some Sumer activities that I like to do or achieve for the school break are having fun with my friends and family and play. On really hot days we go down to the lake and play in the water or go fishing. I also like to play with my dog and go for walks with her if I'm not dragging her all the way there and back. Sometimes I do work with my dad most of the times it involves a lot of elbow grease. I love to do fun activities with my mom that does relate a little work, at the end she gets us a treat. On the days I'm not doing anything I go out with friends or they come to my house, and if I'm good we go to get air, other wise, we just watch movies and relax. On other days when we are in the garden I like to swim, maybe even play with the sprinklers and bother my brothers.…

Should Portsmouth students go to school for four of five days a week? Portsmouth is a small school district in central Rhode Island. This town's council is not giving the schools enough money, so that is why there are so many budget cuts. Many of the decisions of the school system are pressured upon the school committee. This school's committee, like every school committee, has been elected to office by the parents and the town's people. Portsmouth should have a four day school week because the four day week saves money, provides extra opportunities for both parents and students, and gives students more time to get better grades.…

Changing the five day school week has been argued for and against due the controversy as to whether or not it would actually be beneficial to students and teachers. When approaching the idea, many people would like to believe that five day school weeks are the most efficient and productive way to educate our youth. What is often overlooked, however, is that it is causing students to dread school more than they already do, and lessen their willingness to be in or attentive at school. Not only this, but many teachers easily get behind on either grading or lesson planning, while the school could actually save money when switching to this schedule. By refreshing the way the school schedule has previously been, we can address the issue of exhausted students who don 't truly learn anything, teachers who are overwhelmed with work and the economic questions within America 's schools. Providing both students and teachers with a more equal week of break and school time by having Wednesdays off will make students more willing to attend school, give the teachers time to furnish their lesson plans and give the school a break in costs.…

On the night of November 8, 2010 the Cy-Fairs Board of Education members led by Dr.John Olgletree started out with the accomplishments of their schools athletics, art, dance, and literacy accomplishment thus far. From there they took a vote on whose name should represent one of the new schools that was in the process of being built in the Cy- Fair district. Last fall our school board decided to make it mandatory for students to attend school year-round. There were many issues to look at before making this decision. I feel that year round school can both benefit and hurt children. There are many issues that people are for and against for year round schooling. What will happen to kids who have summer jobs or even part time jobs? Employers look for kids who are willing to work during the summer months when there are more activities going on in our community. During the school year students can only work part time and during the summer they are able to work more hours. When school is out during the winter months, things are slower, so business is slow. When this happens, it decreases will decrease…

As seasons change, and the school year progresses, many students lose that “first day of school excitement” (I know that I do!) (parenthesis) that they once felt. So how do we regain that joy that once filled us? The answer is simple, year round school. Having school year round will enable students to expand their knowledge, decrease the time during which kids are idle when they tend to get into the most trouble, and reduce the stress levels of both teachers and students.…

Our children are so important and the idea that our schools don’t see that is a scary thought. Recess has been a way to allow our kids to connect with others socially, build new bonds through similar interest, exercise, and refresh after sitting in a stuffy classroom for so long. Students need recess because just like our muscles need rest time to build after a workout, so do our brains. If we are constantly cramming information in, our brain will become over worked and we will start to experience major health problems in our kids. It is even worse now a day because we have technology to battle with. Students are learning that play time is on an IPad or cell phone. They are losing a very valuable and influential time in their lives.…

I liked my spring break. Wouldn't say I loved it or even really liked it, but it was nice. For starters, I saw the movie Logan which I found to be really good, and I got to see it with my parents and my brother, who all have an affinity for comic books and superheroes. I got to sleep until ten and one of the days I slept until a bit shy of high noon. I got a lot more rest than I was ever able to in my life, basically.…
