Leadership is a lifestyle, not a role one adopts. Leadership requires strength and power, but also the ability to empathize and recognize others' needs. As a high school student, I have had many opportunities to be a leader, whether it be through clubs, group projects, or extracurricular activities. During my Junior year, I assistant directed the play Steel Magnolias under the eye of my drama teacher as well as a college student director. This role allowed me to learn the ropes of directing as well as take care of the six girls cast in the show. I adapted the role of the "stage mom," making sure every hair was curled to perfection and every prop was in its place, as well as ensuring their lines were memorized and their staging was proper. I…

Good evening everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying their night. My name is Keyona and I was the one of the 4 captains chosen for the 2011 Montclair High School Cheerleading Squad. During my 3 years on the squad, I’ve had so many memories, good and bad, that helped me grow as a person. Cheerleading throughout my high school career took part in shaping me as the person I am today. I’d like to congratulate this year’s squad for making it through the season successfully as a new team. There were a lot of ups and downs, but I think we handled each situation well. As the season progressed, I’ve formed bonds with many of the girls on the team that will last me way beyond my high school experience. Some of the girls I think more of sisters than team mates. You guys made my experience more than enjoyable by joking, laughing, and having fun every time I stepped through gym doors. Even if my day was horrible, SOMEONE made me laugh or smile and my frown was quickly turned upside down. I’d like to thank Ms. Rob and Ms. HB for giving me the opportunity to be captain this year. They taught me to have a tough skin and to keep my head up in any situation I face in life. If I had the choice to pick different coaches for the squad, I wouldn’t because nobody could take their place in my eyes. Most importantly, I’d like to thank my mother Lisa White for motivating me and being there whenever I needed her. Even though she punished me every Saturday after each home game with washing loads of dishes from when she made cookies the night before, it was worth it. Overall, the season was unforgettable and I wouldn’t give my spot up as captain for the world. Thank you guys and enjoy the rest of your time here at the…

I am a leader. I have all the qualities that make a great leader, but I was not born this way.Experiences and how someone reacts to those experiences are what truly make a leader. One of the most influential experiences I have gone through is called the Lebanon High School Marching Band. I am certain that I wouldn’t be who I am today if it weren’t for marching band. Before coming to high school I already had leadership qualities, but band helped bring all those great qualities together and helped me get past my two major flaws: my lack of self-confidence and the fact that I was probably one of the shyest people you would EVER meet. When I joined marching band, I spent most of my waking hours sweating and suffering alongside wonderful people that I longed to…

A leader sets an example in rehearsals and performances, and that means to lead by example. During and after school, a leader should be deferential and respectful to their peers. This is especially important off campus, whether with the band or individually, because one is representing Clark Band. A leader should be known as dependable, admirable, honest, responsible, and much more. I understand many people want to contribute this, but I would be a better asset because I have many goals for this year, and a lot of motivating for meeting them.…

I believe I am a strong leader not only due to my 8th-grade status but also for the following reasons. To begin, from my first year of eligibility up until my last, I was a member of the Girl Guides of Canada. As a group, we participated in service projects that changed communities for the better. I also take pride in having been the troupe leader for 2 years consecutively. Secondly, I strive to be dependable when teachers or other students require me to donate my time and resources. By doing so, I desire to show others that I am a trustworthy student who is devoted to going the extra mile in order to help others. Lastly, I have been awarded many nicknames by my friends. However, the name I take pride in is the "mom friend". I take pride in…

So we will go into depth of soccer to see how it started, how its played along with the regulations/rules of the game and talk about the players that have changed the game forever and have made it so popular.... It originated from many other sports such as Tsu-chu translated "kick Ball" a game that was played by the Chinese in 206-255BC and it started to be called soccer in the 16th century of Europe and England but very different to the game up to today. Football was slowing becoming a well know sport it started creating leagues, The first president of FIFA was Robert Guérin. The first tournament FIFA staged, was on the football competition for the 1908 Olympics in London despite the presence of professional footballers. So After the big deal of Football been played around the world and having leagues a set of rules and regulations were made.... these rules weren't made by FIFA, these rules were made by a college named Eton College that made the sport famous in colleges and in many schools and colleges these rules were called "Cambridge rules" There are some rules that might just save your life such as wearing the gear that is mandatory, but try not to wear jewelry when you play…

I sincerely believe that I have characteristics of a good leader, although some of them could be different from the more conventional ones. For example, I am a team player and care about the well being of others, I try my best to help everyone in their time of need, I am generally patient about things, and I really celebrate success in a very enthusiastic way. I think that these qualities are good enough for me to be able to be some type of a good leader.…
