Scholarship Essay Examples
In order to be productive, you can’t stop moving. Everyday, I set a goal for myself to do something. It could be writing a scholarship essay, making a piece of artwork, or reading a book. I also set a checklist for the day, giving me an outline of what I need to do. I set reminders on my phone, write down notes, or record anything of interest in my sketchbook. I always try to stay on top of everything, so that I never suffocate beneath them.
I’m a also huge fan of the Eisenhower Matrix, it makes it easy for me to visualize and sort things into sections in my brain and program myself. For example: I need to do this task now because it’s urgent and important. I don’t need to watch TV because that task is unimportant and not urgent. Because of the Matrix, I’ve gained better time management skills. Therefore, I’m able to quickly sort out my schedules, address my responsibilities

The perfectionist in me will not settle for less. Additionally, I like to speak the truth, literally and figuratively in my art. Addressing societal norms and questioning their existence is one of my favorite things to do. I’m also observant and look for the subtle changes, especially the textures and the feelings, for those are what create character. Character is composed of nuances. Details are what create art. That’s what I see. In the ninth grade, I was a contest manic and applied to every one I found. Somehow, this girl with barely a year of photoshop managed to win DeviantArt’s International 12th Birthday Contest. Additionally, during my free time, I designed posters for Southold’s Drama Club, presentations for the annual Europe trip, and flyers for school clubs, such as the SADD, the Environmental Club and the Southold Chapter of the National Honor Society. I am an artist, but also a writer. I was awarded 1st Place for Education - National Issues for the Long Island Press Awards, and 3rd Place for Photography/Series. I am an

National Junior Honor Society is a great opportunity for me; something that I am really excited to have. I would love to be involved in NJHS and share my ideas and listen to others ideas about fundraisers and collecting donations. I believe I have all the qualities to be apart of the NJHS. Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. I love helping and have participated in many charities. For example, every year for Easter and Christmas our family donates money, toys, and food to WGY Christmas Wish Charity and families in need. At Christmas we have gone around caroling to people in the Greenwich area. Being an applicant for the NJHS is an honor. I would love being considered for NJHS.…

I feel honored to achieve the National Junior Honor Society award, ever since I received the letter informing me about how I earned the award I was very excited. This award means a lot to me and I have set high goals all school year ever since hearing about it. Every day I come to school and set high goals for myself whether it’s to earn all A’s, learn something new, or get an award. I feel education is very important and so far all this school year I only have been absent once and I’ve never been late. However, I don’t think all the credit should go to me, if it weren't for my parents I wouldn’t have gotten myself to where I am today. Their belief in me to achieve greatness inspires me. Throughout my life, they also helped answer all my questions, and still do. All though it’s not just my parents who deserve the credit the amazing teachers who have taught me throughout my entire life deserve some credit too, without their amazing teaching skills I wouldn’t be earning this award today.…

Psychology as a whole has seen many major changes since it began. Take Sigmund Freud, the "Father of Modern Psychology", for instance. He was once the leading psychologist in the world, but now the majority of his ideas have been debunked or cast aside. Not too long ago, a large majority of psychologists were firmly rooted in the idea that a human being was a conglomeration of behaviors that could be changed through conditioning. To those psychologists, people were the sum of their behaviors. Today, behaviors are still important part of psychology, but much more emphasis is placed on thoughts and emotions.…

I decided to attend college for a reason. Therefore, I should make every single day count. At the end of the day, I note down the accomplishments of my day in a diary and schedule my plans for the following day. Everyday is a new day. With a busy life, it's essential to plan ahead and recognize the small steps that one has to take in order to get where one desires to be. A schedule for every single day of the week may sound tedious, but it only take thirty minutes out of one's day. One can portion out the time for sleeping, eating, working, and enjoying. Not every second of the day has to be spent on homework or sleep. By maintaining a journal, one can keep track of small achievements and be a bit satisfied.…

The rough, yet smooth texture of a canvas knocks down all boundaries and only leaves room for creativity. The line from the tip of my pencil is not just nonsense; every drawing is representation of me and everything that I feel at a given moment. Through art, I have learned how this life isn't always pretty blue skies, and ceramic vases. It is purple skies with an orange hue, tornadoes in perfect weather, grimaces and tears, and so much more that words cannot convey, which is why I draw. Through art, I have learned that with the frustration and failures, there is reward in forms of pride and satisfaction of taking a step back and admiring my own…

Discipline, as a verb, is defined as training (someone) to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience. Using this definition I found two example of discipline in the bible. In the bible we can see the verb disciple being not just spoke but shown to us. In the beginning of the bible it starts out in Genesis where we can see the first example of discipline. This is just the beginning of the lessons of discipline that we are given to learn from. We can see the same verb used by God to redirect our thinking and change our mindset. God is not only is trying to correct us in our wrongs but he genuinely wants to see us grow in our relationship with him. This creates an example of positive discipline that we are a part of everyday. Another place that we can see great discipline is in the life, crucifixion and death of Jesus. In this essay I will explain to the reader how the two…
