Scholarship essay
My name is Tequilla Jennings. I am a student at Lake Michigan College completing an associate’s degree in hospitality management and planning on transferring to a four year college or university. My educational aspirations consist of acquiring a master’s degree in hospitality management. On the other hand, my career vision is to become a General Manager for a reputable hotel. My long-term goal is to own a bed and breakfast.
With my seven years of experience and expertise in a variety of guest service skills, I feel that I would be a great candidate for the scholarship essay. I am guest service oriented and have the ability to work well with others. I have compassion and a drive to make sure that people are satisfied with the service they are receiving. I am currently a guest service representative at the Courtyard Marriott in Benton Harbor, Michigan. I go above and beyond my daily requirements just to ensure that our guest experience their best stay at our hotel. Previously, I worked for Whirlpool Corporation serving thousands of their customers and their needs which lead me to where I am today in the hospitality industry.
Out of seven siblings, I will be the first to complete and obtain a college degree. However, it is hard to keep up financially. I am a single mother with two daughters working a part-time job. I am working hard and trying to set a good example for my daughters in hopes that they will have a drive for success also. Getting chosen for this scholarship will contribute to the overall success for my career path.
Thank you for taking the time out to read and review my essay. I look forward to hearing from you soon..
Sincerely,
Tequilla Jennings

Throughout my school years, I have always wanted to help in the community and make an impact to others therefore when entering my freshman year, I joined many different clubs but one stood out to me which was Key Club assists students in carrying out its mission to serve the children of the world. We also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and more so. It provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. I deserve to be selected for the KSU Foundation scholarship because I am dedicated to serving others and know how important it is to persevere. Having won an Air Force Junior ROTC national community service award in the 9th grade and having voluntarily completed over five hundred community service hours during my junior and senior years of high school, I want to continue on serving others in any capacity possible. Receiving this scholarship would allow me to continue on the path to becoming a surgeon for Doctors Without Borders by assisting me financially, allowing me to have more time to serve my community when I otherwise would have been working to be able to afford to stay in college and complete my degree program. Finally, my work and volunteer…

To my knowledge, there is only one Landon Follett Van Wagoner in the world, but what's in a name? I suppose that my upbringing isn't far off the norm for a BYU student. I grew up in Bountiful Utah and was blessed to be raised in a family that is active in the church, where my siblings and I learned the foundational lessons of faith. I am presently serving a mission in Melbourne Australia, and I will be attending Brigham Young University this fall.…

I am not sure I could express into words how much I have grown and learned throughout this journey of my graduate degree with Capella. I had been wanting to go into this field for over 10 years, but didn’t have the opportunity to until a couple years ago. As soon as the opportunity came up, I dived right into it. Not knowing too much of the whole process of hours and requirements, all I knew was that I loved helping people and had a passion for it. I have been so fortunate to have the support of my family and more importantly my two beautiful girls. It has been a major sacrifice for them being a single parent going back to school. There has been many times that I rather no count that we couldn’t go do certain things because I had a paper to write. At first it didn’t matter to me to attend graduation, but seeing all the hard work that I have put into doing the best I could and the sacrifices they have made I want them to also join in the celebration because I am proud of them too.…
