Case Study – Roger Andrewartha
Step – I: This case is about Roger Andrewartha, who is almost 38 years old and has been working as casual nurse in several Nursing Homes. He was admitted to Emergency Department on 6 September 2014 by his case manager because of overdose of Sodium Valproate & Seroquel, and self-inflicted cuts to both wrists. He has been under observation and treatment by Community Treatment Order (CTO).
According to Roger’s Psychiatrist Dr Joshua McArthur, he is suffering from Schizophrenia Disorder and has been patient of him for 3 years. During that time period, his condition remained quite fragile due to abuse of amphetamine. Roger was under Dr Joshua’s treatment for four weeks admitted to Woodbridge House in February 2014.

This test will help to find the reason of his life-threatening symptoms, unconsciousness, or bizarre behaviour.
6) Chest X-ray is also essential as he was currently smoking 10 cigarettes per day which may have caused damage to his lungs.
7) Since Roger remained on some antipsychotic medications for long time period that caused high side effects on him physically and neurologically. Therefore, I need to have information of some other lab tests such as Complete Blood Count (CBC) to know kinds and number of blood cells, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) to test sugar in his blood, Electrocardiogram (ECG) to check his heart activities, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and MRI or CT scan or brain.
8) I may enquire information on any other chronic illness he was suffering from.
9) I need to evident if there was any family history of schizophrenia.
10) Since Roger’s mother shared his aggressive behaviour towards family at multiple times, therefore, existence of any violence or criminal history or record from police will also be
