Scenario 1

In childhood education setting it seems that there are always some children who are crying during play time because they got bullied by peers; all children are developing their social skills. In scenario 1 Olivia doesn’t understand the rule that taking something without permission is not appropriate behavior. Mai also doesn’t know the better reaction that she expresses her sadness by telling to Olivia instead of crying. Because the children are developing their social skills, Scenario 1 is a good opportunity to tell the rules, to introduce the importance of the verbal communication and self-regulation, and to encourage them to play together.
The heart of the problem of Scenario 1 is that the children are developing their social skills because of three factors. First, the children don’t not appreciate appropriate behaviors based on rules. Olivia doesn’t understand about what the preschool
Although outdoor play is beneficial for all children to develop their skills, Maricella didn’t seem to prepare for participating in it. Because of the result that Maricella is now interested in jump rope may be a sign to have prepared for participation, or jump rope may become a motivation to join in the community, the teacher should encourage her to try jump rope so as to invite her to outdoor play.
Principle 11 describes that “development and learning advance when children are challenged to achieve at a level just beyond their current mastery, and also when they have many opportunities to practice newly acquired skills.” (P15L25) The Principle continues to state that educators need to make a rich learning environment to activate the motivation and to make use of strategies to promote children’s undertaking and mastering of new and progressively more advanced
