In the name of GOD

The topic is about disabled people, who are not able to see, hear or something like that.
Most of people think that handicaps are different with us and they are not as healthy as we are or maybe they are unusual and useless. Sometimes we keep our difference from them or even trying to don’t see them.
We think they are poor and disable and perhaps stupid just because of their features, but what is the truth ? Are they miserable and do they need our pity?
Last week I saw a sentinel in transformation blood center. He was dumb and he couldn’t speak. My friend wanted to drink some water but there was a problem with tap. He came closer and fixed it. While he was laughing, tried to explain the reason to us.we understood what he wanted to say because he was narrate it with signs and gesture.
I saw that his defect didn’t affect on his job.
Or in the street I saw a blind one, who was reading a Hafez poem with his hands and with a loud voice. I enjoyed it but on the other hand it made me sad. Why there is no special support for these people? Why he should do such a work ?
I think they don’t have enough facility in our country. The government must do something for them such as: * Financial support * Special insurance and medical support * Handicapped person's association * Job opportunities * Social facilities
In my point of view they are human just like us and they need our help instead of

Think about your life and how great it is, you aren’t in a wheelchair, your brain functions correctly, and you have friends, but some people go through that struggle and it makes their life difficult. Through the 1900s-1950s people with disabilities weren’t treated very well, they didn’t get medicine or any professional help through their life. In 1907 the Eugenic Sterilization Law was passed and it was for people who were disabled. People thought they could catch whatever they had and they didn’t want to be thrown into an asylum just like everyone else. Science wasn’t as strong back then as it is today, so many believed that they were a threat to the health of the nation or even “perfecting” the human race in general.…

A person’s disability, no matter what it is, whether it be blindness, deafness, dwarfism, the inability to walk, or any other condition, it set him or her apart from everyone else (Gold, 2011). Society had their belief, or view on what was “normal” and many times superstitious or religious people believed disabilities were works of the Devil (Gold, 2011). This belief often led to people people believing disabled individuals were dangerous and sometimes they punished these men and women for being “associated” with the Devil because of their disability. These beliefs ruined the lives of disabled people, whether they were banished, tortured, or even killed. Disabled were wanted nowhere and sometimes their own families would leave them without a home since they couldn’t fit…

Not only that but we are ignorant towards what they are capable of doing that does not involve work, for example, a deaf person is able to enjoy music. I know this because a deaf boy I used to go to school with used to talk about the music he listened to after he had won an iPod. But before that, I had no idea that they could, and that illustrates how ignorant I was towards what he is able to do, even with an impairment. It should not matter whether or not an individual has an impairment, we do not look beyond it and that is what creates a barrier.…

Amazing fact, question or quote about the topic: “There is no greater disability in society than the inability to see a person as more” said by Robert M. Hasel He means when you see someone who has a disability you feel bad right away. You look at them differently, you may not notice it but you do. You think when you see them that they can’t do what others can do. There’s so many differences on the way they’ve been treated,There’s so many different disabilities that fall into two categories, and they have ways to do things on their own.…

I am an Army brat and I have traveled a lot because of the Army. I consider that to be a good thing though because I have met a lot of different people. Some of those people had disabilities other did not. If a person had a disability I acknowledge it and looked passed it. The people I met I accepted for who they were as a person. Even when I worked at the school, the student came first and their disability second. Most of the students I worked with were so joyful and loving. I learned a lot from them and II was very lucky to have met them. My only problem was that at times I found myself feeling sorry for them and wanting to help them out or empathy. I now know that this view is insulting for individual with disabilities and I must move past it. As stated by the Independent Living advocates, “People with disabilities have the same aspirations as people who do not have disabilities; People with disabilities do not wish to be described as "very brave" when they are successful, nor do they seek pity in the manner of the "poster child" image.…

Jeremy Rifkin in the article “A Change of Heart About Animals” describes how the lives of animals are all for the benefit of the human race and how animals deserve more respect. Many concerned and caring people believe that animals should be treated with love and respect. The reality of this is that Rifkin is to unable to comprehend that life without using animals as a benefit would just further complicate the already complex world we live in today. To some point I can agree with Rifkin, but highly disagree with him when it comes to how animals are only used for benefiting humans.…

Society does not know their full capabilities and refuse to learn more about them. They are oppressed through the treatment of society, job markets, and healthcare. In the United States there are, as Munger and Mertens (2011) stated, “approximately 54 million Americans, or one in every seven individuals, have a disability, making people with disabilities the largest minority group on the country” (p. 23).…

Words such as disability, impairment, and handicap when misunderstood and misused can be hurtful, and offensive, especially to me. Every day is a struggle that I wish could just disappear. But, life is not a Hollywood movie, it's reality. I can't just magically start walking normally. In fact, I can never walk normally. It's not like the movie Forest Gump. Once he started running his braces broke and he was running normally. Cerebral Palsy does not go away by some miracle. It can never be cured, it can only be helped.…
