Satirical Abortion Essay
Good people disagree about the morality of abortion because we disagree about what defines human nature. First trimester abortions may have absolutely no moral implications whatsoever--perhaps a first trimester embryo is no more conscious than a kidney or spleen. Or they may have more serious moral implications. Our culture hasn't come to a consensus on that yet.

But we know a little bit about murder, and the differences between murder and other forms of killing. And murder, in the way that we define it in all other instances, involves theintentional death of another human person. Even if we were to assume that every embryo or fetus were just as sentient and just as much of a person as any other human being, an argument that is not supportable on the basis of scientific evidence, then the lack of knowledge and intent would still be enough to classify abortion as something other than murder.

Let's imagine a scenario in which two men go deer hunting. One man mistakes his friend for a deer, shoots him, and accidentally kills him. As long as we all agreed on the facts of the case, it's hard to imagine that any reasonable person would describe this as murder--even though we would all know for certain that a real, sentient human person was killed. Why? Because the shooter thought he was killing a deer--something other than a real, sentient human person.

Now consider the example of abortion. If a woman and her physician think they're killing a non-sentient organism, then--even if the embryo or fetus were, unbeknownst to them, a sentient human person--they would not be committing murder. At most, they would be guilty of involuntary manslaughter. But even involuntary manslaughter involves criminal negligence, and it would be very hard to judge someone criminally negligent for not personally believing that a pre-viable embryo or fetus is a sentient human person when we don't actually know this to be the case.

From the point of view of someone who believes that every

One of the most commonly fought arguments today is if abortion is either a right or a wrong thing for a woman to do. Abortion is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus (which is where the embryo/fetus matures) in order to end a pregnancy in a woman. Some people feel that abortion is wrong and call abortion murder of innocent children, while others feel that abortion is only the removing of cells in a woman's body, preventing a baby from forming, because they feel that the embryo/fetus isn’t even a human being. I personally feel that abortion is wrong for many reasons. For example, that life begins at conception and that abortion is murder and goes against God’s morals. People who are for abortion argue that it is a violation of the…

There are a mass amount of controversies when the word “abortion” is brought into awareness. This dispute has brought about both positive and negative affects on society. Abortion plays a major role in the everyday life of a human. People base their political parties, and even the jobs they choose to work at, all depending whether the host is pro-life or pro-choice. I personally am pro-life. I have made the decision of being pro-life based on multiple observations. Some of these observations include you are murdering your own child, you need to face the consequences of your actions, and to give people who are not able to have their own offspring a chance to be a mother/parent.…

In conclusion, the moment an egg meets a sperm, it’s a human. So, the act of abortion is indeed murder, because it is taking a human’s life. Abortion violates the unborn child’s right to live the moment the act is performed. Most importantly, abortion deprives God’s plan for us as every life has a purpose. To reiterate, some babies die by chance, none should ever die by…

Abortion is murder no matter when a person believes life becomes official. The fact that a potential life has ended before given a chance to live is enough for most people to understand why a person should never have a choice of whether a baby lives or dies. There are many reasons as to why abortion should be illegal including the descriptive and disturbing stories about how aborted babies sometime scream as they come out and the looks of pain on their faces. These…

A baby heart forms and starts beating in the fifth week of pregnancy; therefore, that would make abortion murder. The baby that is growing inside of the woman is depending on her, so when she makes the choice to end that baby's life, they are making the choice to murder another person. The federal Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which was enacted "to protect unborn children from assault and murder," states that under federal law, anybody intentionally killing or attempting to kill an unborn child should "be punished for purposely killing or making an effort to kill a human being.” Abortion is immoral because it is the intentional killing of a human being. It is a well-known fact that life begins at the moment of conception. When we perform an abortion, we take the life of an innocent child. We deny the unborn child it’s right to live and experience the world. No one has the right to take the life of another person, even an unborn child. Abortion is murder because life begins at conception. All things that grow are living. Just because the living, growing fetus is not visible, does not mean that it is not a…

    Why Is Abortion Wrong

Abortion is murder. I went to dictionary.com and searched “life.” It defined life as “an organismic state characterized by capacity for metabolism, growth and reaction to stimili. And doesn’t a fetus possess all these things? So therefore it is alive. I also searched “murder” which was defined as “the brutal or inhumane killing of a human being.” Abortion is just that. I’m not going to go into detail but, basically in most abortions, the doctors chop the baby into pieces then pull it out with plier like tools. So, to those of you who think abortion isn’t painful to the baby, just imagine your baby sibling or cousin. Look through their eyes. Would it be painful to…

Life begins the moment the sperm enters an egg. Landrum B. Shettles who has his Ph.D. in biology said, “The zygote is human life….there is one fact that no one can deny; Human beings begin at conception.” Murder is defined as the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another. From this example, it should be clear that abortion should be classified as murder because you are making the choice to kill a life inside you. All in all, abortion should be illegal because it is…

hen does the fetus become a person? Though the legal moment at which the fetus is looked at for the first time as a human being is deemed to be at the instant that it is born, the difference between an eight- week premature infant and a 24-week-old fetus is virtually nonexistent. So should the fetus be regarded as a person, or should the premature baby still be regarded as a fetus? Thus arises the statement by the pro-life side of the argument that should not the fact that we are unable to pinpoint with absolute certainty the precise moment when a fetus suddenly develops a personality means that we ought to do away with the process until such a time that we are able to ascertain that persons are…

An abortion is defined as the termination of a pregnancy by the removal of a fetus/embryo from the uterus resulting in death. I do not see how that cannot be considered as murder. When a life is purposefully taken by another person, it is murder. There are many other options for mothers that are not ready to be mothers.
