As the world slowly becomes warmer, the effects of global warming will soon be irreversible. Here we are enjoying the warm weather and going for an afternoon jog in our summer clothes, but the problem is that we aren’t afraid of what could happen to our own planet earth in the future. Also, this generation thinks that we won’t be around when global warming harms us and the earth, so why should we have to worry about finding a cure to global warming? Because of this these people aren’t cleaning up the earth.…

Through the research I’ve done on global warming it appears to me that there is no problem with it at all, and that there is nothing to worry about. We need to accept that fact that global warming is actually helping the human race in many different ways. For examples the environment is warming up, the ocean levels are rising, and the increase of carbon dioxide are all benefits to the environment and economy. It’s almost as if global warming is turning the earth into a tropical paradise.…

Flash floods and hurricanes may wipe out coastal cities. NASA asserts that the quantity and intensity of forest fires will increase, as well as droughts and heat waves. The World Wildlife Fund reports that global warming will directly harm many endangered species. Scores of scientists have been warning the United States government about global warming, yet our current administration refuses to take action. In fact, the leaders of our government are attempting to repeal laws that are in pace to slow the effects of global warming. If nothing is done to save our planet, humans will face…

Global warming has always been a problem for humans. In the past 650,000 years, According to NASA, Earth’s average temperature has risen 1.7 degrees fahrenheit since 1880 (Global Climate Change). In fact, January of 2017 has been the third warmest ever recorded. More funding should go into helping global climate change because rising sea levels are dangering the land, there is a major decrease in arctic ice, and rising temperatures are causing more animal species to go on the endangered list.…

In a poll conducted by expert Michael Bastasch, 91% of Americans aren’t worried about climate change, but little do they know that our planet is going through a disastrous process that we have caused and that it could potentially end up killing us. This process is climate change. Although the rates at which our planet is warming are very slight, this slight warming can have a huge impact.…

Today, the world is experiencing anthropogenic global climate change. This means that there is a global climate change that is being caused by humans, which is all of us. Many people are in denial that global climate change, or commonly known as global warming, is really occurring. But, global warming really is happening and there is scientific proof. In the TED talk, James Balog explains how the arctic icebergs are the “canary in the global coalmine.” The ice is deflating and receding at a very rapid rate which is higher than it ever has. Sea level is set to continue to rise at a faster rate than over the past 40 years because of the melting ice, which is proof that global warming is really happening. Also, carbon dioxide is at an unprecedented level not seen for at least the last 800,000 years. It is released through natural processes but also through human activities such as deforestation, land use changes, and burning fossil fuels. Humans have increased atmospheric CO2 concentration by a third since the Industrial Revolution began. The carbon dioxide levels are directly related to the population of the world.…

In addition to these issues which have a varied gravity, global warming is known as the most serious issue and I believe every citizen of the world should know about what it is and what is causing it, because it affects the future of mankind. Not very many people know that once global warming is in full effect, it is impossible to reverse it. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) scientists, “the climate change that is taking place because of increases in carbon dioxide concentration is largely irreversible for 1,000 years after emissions stop” (Romm). Essentially, even if we were to completely cease our carbon emissions and completely reduce our overall “carbon footprint” today, we would not see the effects of the reduction for years. The same concept applies to being able to see the damaging effects of climate change on our environment. Once we are able to physically witness the changes, reversal is virtually impossible. This is why many people don’t believe global warming to be as urgent and serious of an issue as it really is. Since it is not happening quickly before our eyes, people may brush it off as just some ice caps melting, which doesn’t seemingly affect their lives directly as other issues being covered in the…

The earth has been around for billions of years and many issues in our time as a species have risen up. One matter that has come up is the issue of global warming or climate change. This conflict has been around for many years, but has started to get worse every year, since the United States and other countries have been emitting carbon dioxide into the earth’s atmosphere. Global warming is an urgent issue; moreover, there exists a controversy on whether humanity or nature is the cause, and the scientists who consider this a serious matter are entirely correct because humans are at fault.…

First, we have global warming, which is a problem that must be solved as soon as possible. Some ignorant people think that it won’t happen but we are actually living this situation right now, every single day. According to some NASA studies, since 1950, the average temperature has climbed 1.4Fahrenheit degrees around the world. As a consequence of this fact, an Arctic ice area, which was bigger than the United States, has melted this year! Another evidence of global warning is that the frequency and number of hurricanes and earthquakes around the world has increased the last years. The irony of all this is that even though we do realize what is happening; even though we know that we are destroying our planet, we are still polluting, wasting and damaging.…

The seriousness of global warming is evident. “In the 20th century, the world’s average surface temperature rose by… the fastest rate in any period over the last 1,000 years.” (Source A) In the ocean, the surface temperature increased nearly 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit from about 100 years ago. (Source B) It is not only people who are affected by global warming. Nowadays, “each spring, the robins are arriving in Wisconsin several days earlier than they did a decade ago” (Source F) These significant changes to the world has alarmed people and evoked efforts to stop global warming.…

Animals becoming extinct, less available clean drinking water, glaciers rapidly melting, countries becoming flooded; these and many more are all problems we are facing in our everyday lives due to global warming. “The warnings about global warming have been extremely clear for a long time. We are facing a global climate crisis. It is deepening. We are entering a period of consequences.” Said Al Gore in a speech at the National Sierra Club Convention in 2005. Many would agree with Gore in taking the side that global warming is the greatest threat to our world today. Global warming has a chain reaction effect, causing one thing which leads to the next and so on. Contrary to what others may think, no other problem compares to the intensity of global warming. This is because global warming affects everyone worldwide, not just certain people. Also, many of these problems that we may believe are the greatest threat to our world today stem from global warming such as climate change, the melting of glaciers, and spread of diseases. Evidently, global warming is the greatest threat to our world today.…

In the past 100 years, the temperature of our Earth has increased by about 4.5 degrees (Guggenheim). This may not seem like a lot, but on a global scale, it can have a huge impact. Global Warming is a serious problem, and it should be taken very seriously. Unless we take action now, we will have major consequences to deal with later on. These include, but are certainly not limited to, extreme weather, a decline in polar life, and effects on human health. It seems like Global Warming has become such a political issue that people tend to take a side based solely on the political party they support. This needs to stop. No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, you cannot ignore the facts. The temperature of our atmosphere has been increasing at an alarming rate in recent years. Global warming is happening, and action needs to be taken to stop it, no exceptions.…
