SATIRE GLOBAL WARMING
Natay Henry
Mrs. Wiesinger
Honors Sophomore English 6
February 5th, 2015
Avoid Global Warming Walking around the #1 polluted city in the United States, the beautiful smell of diesel surrounds the air. Oh sunny Los Angles, CA; visitors wake up early and perhaps go for a hike in Runyon Canyon Park. There is a beautiful trail that brings people to the peak of Los Angles to see all of its glory, the Hollywood sign, Disneyland, and the gray haze of polluted air surrounding the city.
Maybe the view of the La Brea Tar Pits can be seen, which resembles the tar within citizen’s lungs after the weekend getaway. Oh, and people cannot beat the heat of Los Angeles, which is nearly 134 degrees due to the large hole within the ozone layer. Later a walk down to Hollywood Boulevard to get high off the emissions of the cars along with the meth addicts on the side of the rode would be fun. Then that one guy with his black hummer could probably pass on up with his “I Heart the Earth” bumper sticker and leak his oil all over the rode. Now it is time to rent a hummer within beachy California, a green hummer that burns up gasoline like a pyromaniac. But as a flashy man, maybe a cruise around the city should be done. The nice heavy traffic road it is, while the green hummer puffs emissions into the American Citizen’s air. As of now over “One half of Americans-estimated 150 million-live in areas that don’t meet federal air quality”(UCS), and this green hummer adds 20 people it just passed to that list. They will probably have fun later in life while their running and they start to develop asthma or bronchitis. The medical costs for their newly formed health risks will nose dive their bank account and they will probably not be able to support their loved ones. Although that occurs, the road trip shall continue. It is time for a stop at a fast food joint; a juicy, artificial burger and a complementary, super-sized, high fructose corn syrup drink. There are so little people jogging and

People always talk about the innocent lives of human beings and animals being killed/diseased/injured while everybody seems blinded towards fruits, vegetables, and plants when the same things happen to them! The lives of these harmless organisms are never considered while we chow down on salads and apples! The lives of the innocent must be protected!|The solution is simple, banning the consumption and destruction of all vegetables, fruits, and plants. This means that some forms of medicine will be eliminated due to some of the chemicals being extracted from plants but, rest assured that this sacrifice will not go out in vein due to plant-life being saved! Florida will be the next lost city of Atlantis! That can be imagined when reading statistics from scientists predicting that in fewer than 100 years, most of southern Florida will be under water because of global warming (Wilbur, 2011). Global warming is the rising of the Earth’s temperature because of greenhouse gasses like the burning of fossil fuels coal, oil, and gas. Some people doubt whether global warming exists. Harold Wanless, chairperson of the University of Miami 's Department of Geological Sciences believes it does. Harold was interviewed by Fox News and said that a three-foot rise in sea level will cause problems for Florida. He says that a four-foot rise "Becomes extremely difficult to live in south Florida, and at five-feet probably impossible.” Global warming is not just affecting south Florida; Global warming is affecting the world. Some people argue that human caused global warming is just a myth. If nature has a part in global warming, humans also have a part in it. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates that the United States gasoline and diesel fuel consumption for transportation in 2011 resulted in the emission of about 1,089 and 430 million metric tons of CO2 respectively for a total of 1,519 million metric tons of CO2. Humans are killing the planet and thus are killing their children’s future. Media, politicians, and ordinary Americans should pay more attention to global warming before it is too late.…
