Sasquatch Myths

From dragons to fairies and things like the loch ness monster, people have had crazy imaginations about many things. Two such things are the abominable snowman - the Yeti - and the forest lurking - Sasquatch. These two mysterious creatures have been explained sometimes as facts and also pushed away as myths. The Sasquatch and the Yeti are two legends perceived to be true. The Sasquatch is known to be over seven feet tall and very hairy like an ape. It also has brown hair and is known to live in forests or in the mountains. The Yeti is portrayed to be a bear like creature and significantly taller than the average person. Himalayan mountains are recognized to be the home or habitat of the Yeti. It also has white fur and is known to live through
Now, going back to the hair samples from 2013 there was evidence of it just being a type of polar bear as mentioned earlier. Rachel Feltman stated in the article “Bigfoot: still imaginary, probably not an undiscovered species of bear” from the Washington Post that “The short answer is that there’s a wide variation in that segment of DNA that they looked at. There’s a large variation within brown bears that overlaps with the variation known for polar bears, so actually you can’t even tell the two species apart based on that little species of DNA” (Feltman). This not only shows that it is probably just a species of bear but it shows they have barely any evidence to work with. Now, their job is harder without a majority of evidence and the likely of the matter is that bears are actually more common in the Himalayas than you think. There is also many species of bear that hasn’t been found and probably won’t be found for another decade so it is going to be hard to find just the Sasquatch and the
A hunter had found the dead body that could supposedly be Sasquatch. Tests have been taken in to see if it linked to anything and the results still haven’t came back. Doug Gross said in this article “Body proves Bigfoot no myth, hunters say” from CNN that “The men won’t reveal the den of the ape like man because they don’t want others to be disturbed” (Gross). This is a huge reveal, but them not revealing the actual den makes it less believable. It’s like telling someone (just for an example) I will trade you 5 bucks tomorrow for that sandwich and not even showing them you have money for it. In my own opinion they just found a carcass of a rare ape-like species. Now if they had revealed the actual location of the den and people start to go there and get even more evidence then I would believe it is real. This story never really became popular either.
