Santa Informative Speech
If I said to my mom that I know no santa, she will not put the gifts under the christmas tree, I thought. I believed in santa for 9 years, but when I was 9 years old, I knew that there’s no santa. Many 10-12 years old kids figured out that santa is not real. Some of them heard it from their parents, their friends, or their siblings. Me, I figured it out by myself. It was so shocking to me but I kept pretending that I believe in santa. I was afraid if I can’t get any presents from santa nor my parents. There are many different thoughts about santa and when it is almost christmas, the kids start arguing about whether santa is real or not. Some kids thought that santa is a scuttlebutt. When I had the conflict about the santa, I was totally on ‘santa is real’ side. I truly believed in santa, and no one can change my thought. However, what happens in 25 December, 2010 totally changed my thought and belief.
It was Christmas eve, and my family was getting ready to go to the restaurant that my mom made a reservation two months ago. It was popular restaurant.

There was no doubts. I didn’t speculate that my mom wrote it, I just knew it! It was so clear. However, I didn’t ask my mom if she wrote it or not. A sudden concern came out from my head, ‘What if my parents don’t give me any gifts? They’ll not give me any gifts when I told that santa is not real’. I pretended that I believed in santa and made a big smile to my parents. “Yay! I’m going to get gifts anyway!”, I said with a joy. I was on the ball and knew what happened. I came to my room and I was so shocked. It was not a simple thing to me, I felt like someone hits my head with a hammer. I realized that something I believe in is not always right like a santa in the

I absolutely had to use a photo of Princess Diana because I was a huge fan of hers. I remember watching her wedding on television when I was a young child, and I cried like a baby when she met her untimely demise. I don't recall every crying like that when a celebrity died, but she was my heroine and I loved her! Since then I've kept up with the ins and outs of the Royal Family and the shenanigans of Prince Harry, my now favorite Prince. He is a Princess Diana reincarnated in the male form. Lives by his own rules and with not a care in the world. Madison and I were able to visit the Madame Tussauds London museum while on our trip to London just recently, thanks to the kind folks of Merlin Entertainment. Since this is most likely the only way we'll ever get to the meet the Royal Family we just had to do it. Now if you're thinking all wax museums are the same, well Madame Tussauds London is on a whole new level of awesome. I've…

Last weekend, I went to Suwanee, GA to see my father and stepmother because it had recently been my stepmother's birthday. In celebration we chose to dine out at a restaurant called Gulf Coast Grill. It was the first time my family had eaten at the restaurant, but will not be the last. Once stepping inside, I knew it was going to be interesting because the restaurant had a very strong beach theme as well as a live band playing. After being told it was going to be a fifteen to twenty minute wait, I was surprised when our table was called after less than ten. The restaurant experience was already off to a good start, and only continued to get better.…

Stephen Tobolowsky relays what he labels his “first crisis of belief” in his article “The Santa Conspiracy.” This “crisis of belief” occurs when he has a conversation with his six-year- old friend about his own questioning of whether Santa is real. Tobolowsky is struck by the confrontational and profound statement of this friend: “’It is always easier to want to believe in something than to say it never was true.’” Stephen is five years old when he is jolted by this philosophical maxim from his friend, Dwayne, so much so that over fifty years have passed, and this exchange is still pivotal to Stephen.…

It was around eight o' clock, well past the dinner rush, but I had a feeling the popularity of this restaurant would play against us, and we would be stuck waiting for a long period of time before we were seated. To my surprise, however, upon entering the restaurant there was no long line of people…

“Maybe there really is a Santa Claus.” Many ideas can be interpreted from this simple sentence written in Miranda's diary, on page 139 of Life As We Knew It, by Susan Beth Pfeffer! Santa Claus, the world's beloved giver of gifts, transporter of toys, rider of reindeer, is more important than you might think. Most children only realize the minimum, that they have to behave, in order for Santa to bring them more presents. In reality, Santa is giving them the best gift of all, everlasting hope. Santa allows kids to have something to look forward to all year round, his arrival. The thought of his presence is like a beacon of hope, or belief for people of all ages. The only problem is, when kids find out he isn't real. That day, where they overhear…

I ask myself is it morally wrong to tell them that Santa is real. My religious and faith in “God” say that I celebrate this holiday because it is “Jesus” birthday. I tell my nieces and nephew yes there is a Santa but the real reason we celebrate Christmas is because December 25 is the birthday of “Jesus” it is when he was…

I recently hit 100 views today (yey for me). So I decided to look at my tags to see what my most popular was and it was horror. The ranking for the Wrong Turn films did pretty well (you can find it here if you have not seen it) and I enjoyed writing it. So I decided to do something similar plus I do like to read up on horror things so why not do a top 10 killers. For horrors I love the sub genre of slasher films so most of my chooses will probably be from them types of movies.…

Skewed thoughts of how and why to celebrate Christmas has trampled the faith-based version of the holiday. In movies widely popular in the younger generation, the celebration of Christmas revolves around unrealistic traditions, such as receiving gifts from Santa and his reindeer. Reality, however, differs. Christmas should revolve less around fantasies and materialistic gifts and more toward appreciation, family, and Jesus Christ (the reason for the season). For instance, movies such as “Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer” directed by Larry Roemer and the many sequels of “Santa Claus” directed by John Pasquin have plots about elves and reindeer trying to impress Santa. Adults focus on the legend of Saint Nicholas when teaching their children about Christmas causing them to lose sight of its religious…
