This took place at Taft Union High School near Bakersfield, California. This school shooting started because the student was a victim of bullying and he wanted revenge. The student came to school and shot one student and missed another. He called the student who was bullying him, and the came out of hiding and apologized, but the teacher, Ryan Heber, interrupted and he came face to face with the 16- year-old student, who was armed. Heber wasn’t sure with this if the student was either, going to put the weapon down or continue shooting. While the student was distracted, Supervisor Kim Fields took the rest of the students so they could escape. Finally, the shooter surrendered and the police took the student into custody. Friday, the next day, school was cancelled due to the situation, but counseling sessions were held that morning for teachers or students who wished to attend. Before Heber spoke to the shooter, the student who was shot in the process was in a critical, yet a stable condition. Kern County Sheriff, Donny Youngblood said “The name of the student wasn’t released, and is debating whether he will be charged as an adult or not.” KDET reported “Heber is a well-known and liked science teacher and was a graduate at Taft and with the situation the Heber family will be there for him with emotional support.” The Taft shooting was the latest school shooting in the U.S., and it launched a big debate whether teachers should carry weapons to protect themselves and others in case of another shooting. Immediately after the shooting, parents went to the school to pick up their children and express concern about the school security. A parent reported “We’re going to protect our students a lot more, and it goes to show that there is one bad apple out there.”…

On April 20, 1999, the small town of Littleton, Colorado would forever be changed. On Tuesday morning two senior students by the name of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold entered Columbine High School with the intent of killing hundreds of their classmates with guns, knives, and bombs that they hand made in their homes. They began opening fire on their peers and setting off explosives all around the school. Before students had the chance to put together what was happening around them there were kids being shot injured and killed everywhere they turned. A student who attended Columbine said “I thought it had to be a firecracker - some kind of senior prank. Then, I looked up and saw the backs of two guys in black trench coats” (Miller) After being satisfied with the damage they have done in the cafeteria, they moved on through the halls and classrooms shooting anyone who was in their way or trying to get away from danger including Dave Sanders, a teacher who was helping injured students. Their next stop was the library which was where the death toll was the highest. After shouting for all the students to get up, they demanded that anyone who was wearing a white cap, better known as a jock, stand up. When no one stood up they began randomly shooting students that were sitting at desks or hiding beneath them. At one point one of the gunmen asked a girl if she believed in God, as soon as she said yes he shot her for praying. Klebold also shot a student simply because he was black, along with shooting them because they simply hated the whole school. After walking into the cafeteria again and shooting some more they returned to the library and went to the back where they shot themselves in the head and the ordeal was finally over. Although they were dead the policemen and paramedics could not enter the building right away because they did not know for sure if they were dead considering no one saw them actually commit…

Just after school began on a Friday morning in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, Adam Lanza opened fire in the main office of Sandy Hook Elementary. What followed was the mass murder of 20 students and 6 staff members (Stroller, Strauss & Stanglin, 2012). A mass murder is defined as “single episodic act of violence, occurring at one time and in one place…where three or more people are killed with no cooling off period between killings” (Kitaeff, 2011, p. 81-82). Investigators estimate that from the time Lanza began shooting until he turned the gun on himself was less than five minutes. Lanza, 20 years old, then turned the gun on himself, he was found dead inside the school. In all, he fired from three weapons, Glock and Sig Sauer pistols as well as an AR-15, military style rifle. Police reported that Lanza first shot his mother in the forehead then drove her car to the school and began firing (Stroller et al, 2012).…

Also the other guns found on the scene of the crime were a glock handgun and also sig-sauer handgun.(Sandy Hook shooting: What happened?). Now this is where it starts to get interesting. Some places you look for information on this topic you have multiple versions like any other story, but in my opinion the stories are more and more twisted even as time goes on, but your opinion is all that matters, and with that being said there are two videos I do believe you should watch.…

Mallory takes the stance that there must be a common middle ground between the issuance of guns and the regulation and policy of who should be allowed to obtain them. He tries to support his position of policing policy of gun control by quoting expert opinions representing two different sides of the issue of gun control yet they both represent the need for a greater oversite of policy governing the need for background checks but also the broken systems and expense of such a resource was of great…
